Great Movies That Others Might Enjoy, Or Ones To Avoid

I thought Air (Prime) was good but not great. Fun period piece from the mid ‘80s though it immediately took me back to Len Bias and what might have been.

I watched it the other day, I'd rate it as a fun watch not a must watch but it does raise the question where would Nike be if they didn't land the GOAT.

Saw The Flash over the weekend, it's a rental at best imo. If it wasn't for my total nostalgia nerd out for Keaton reprising Batman it's doubtful I would rate is a rental and more of if it happens to be on. The ending just felt off, not sure if it was the editing or what but something to me wasn't executed well. Trying not to get into any spoilers here.

This is easily one to avoid....

Saw the new Transformers over the weekend. Actually very much enjoyed the other ones so was looking forward to this one...and was highly disappointed. Acting was ok, but the story, CGI, and everything else total shit. Shame.

2/10.

I absolutely loved it as did my kids. We've seen it twice now. Plus, the ending where he has his "job interview" sets up a great crossover.

Fair enough friend, I was just highly disappointed. Maybe them refusing to take my coupon for the popcorn and drink turned me off from the whole experience though haha.

Renfield , if you like quirky b horror movies this is fun. It's stupid fun but again for the majority of people it's probably a pass.

Looks like he is more or less reprising his role from ‘Vampire’s Kiss’. If you haven’t seen it it’s worth 90 minutes :)

If you like the spider man animated movie the new one is awesome. It's very cool to see my comics come to life.

Extraction 2 with Hemsworth was worth a watch for an action flick. Nothing plot driven, but a nice old school style action movie.

Watched the new guardians of the Galaxy movie. If you're into that series it is really good.

Adam Sandler really can't do any wrong when it comes to fun movies to watch

Leo is a good animated one
You are so not invited to my bah mitzvah is another

He has a real niche for what he likes and it works for my family.

Highly recommend ‘Godzilla Minus One’ - the only Godzilla movie ever to be nominated for and win an Academy Award.

This isn’t just a Godzilla movie. Great story and acting and of course the special effects are unreal. My wife even loved it and this is t the type of movie she would ever choose to watch.

I have a 9 year old who is obsessed with all things Godzilla. I mean I catch him watching the old black and white shin Godzilla even!

We just couldn't get into it. I get the love for it, but we just wanted the normal burn down Tokyo, fight s titan, action movie. I can definitely see the love for it though. Very well written and done.

IF is a really good movie that flew under a lot of radars. Ryan Reynolds and John krasinski are really good and it's very heartwarming..... especially for kids

Went to see Alien: Romulus in IMAX yesterday. I won't get into too much as it's just come out and I don't want to spoil anyone's experience. Couple things. The movie is visually stunning. One thing I found distracting is that the plot has a group of young people stuck on some distant mining planet. They hatch a plot to escape it and go to another more desireable planet by shuttling up to an old abandoned spacecraft that's in orbit. The distracting part is that you spend the first third of the movie wondering if the 'Aliens' are going to manifest themselves on that ship, or once they arrive at their eventual destination?

The other thing I struggled with (and this may just be 100% my issue), but the IMAX sound system was SO loud, all of the dialogue was muddy. Coupled with my hearing loss, and all of the background noises in the film, I probably understood about 1/3rd of the dialogue - no exaggeration. Now - it's an 'Alien' movie, so I could certainly follow most of what was going on, but it really took away from the experience. Either my hearing has gotten exponentially worse since the last movie I saw in a theater, or IMAX is just not a good option for folks with any kind of hearing issue.

Would I recommend the movie? Mmmm... little bit of a mixed bag on that. You won't be bored and visually it's great. A little all over the place in terms of plot. The artificial human aspect is as big a part of the plot as the creatures are in this one. I look forward to watching it from my living room and actually being able to hear what's being said :)

We saw twisters over the weekend. If you're just expecting a fun movie with great CGi you're in for a treat. There is nothing deep about it or that you really need to pay attention to. But, it's a fun movie.

Mike - is that a remake of the original Twister or a completely different movie?

Not a remake, but nothing really different either.
