I watched Queen and Slim with my two teenage kids (one Black and the other Hispanic). We had an interesting talk about it afterwards and whether their expectations. My daughter was completely fatalistic saying things like, "Well, that's what it's like to be Black in America." Still we did talk, about even when it seems like nobody would help them, people went out of their way to help them and those who did so were of all populations. Similarly, those who tried to screw them were of all races too. For those who haven't seen it, I would recommend it while noting one has to watch through to the very end to fully take in the story instead of giving up half way through.
Then last night, I watched Juror Number 2 with my oldest daughter. She got on me after asking why I picked movies that left her thinking about justice and other ways she doesn't understand the world every night. I told her I like to watch movies that make me think about what motivates others because often their actions make a lot more sense from that vantage point. She is autistic, so she asked me quite a few times in both movies why the characters did what they did. She liked the movies afterwards because they made her think slightly differently about the characters.
