Commanders Trade Deadline Thread

JCM is that type of back. We just haven't seen him break lose as he's still new in town, but in the open field yeah I'll take my chances with Bill.

Yeah i kind of agree. Maybe we haven’t seen him split wide much and that’s why I don’t put him in that category.

I was talking about someone like Darren sproles, Chris Thompson, Reggie bush. Absolute weapons that are matchup nightmares. Positionless type players that you can always move around to take advantage of a defensive alignment.

He’s definitely got traits that suggest he’d be dangerous in the open field - the quicks, speed and shiftiness to go along with some power. On the other hand, we don’t really know about his hands and route running (including the nuanced parts of route running), not to mention developing his pass pro. Like you though, I like his chances of getting there.

I don't know. You'd think NFL fans would know, you cannot make any player assessment or make predictions based on a handful of games or even one season. We should know this. Bill has had some good carries. Saying much more than that about him seems like asking to be reminded of this once again.
I’d just say NFL fans rush to judgement and are generally stupid. That includes me. :)

We need to move players if it makes sense and not give up anymore draft picks. Need to be player first player trades or player for draft pick trades. No draft picks for players.

We already have a very good 3rd down back who fills that role. JCM is more of a prime back IMO, capable of 20 carriers and ripping of big ones, getting 2 yards when he should have lost 2 etc. But lately he has had no place to go, that's not on him.

Unless you are trading for the other McCaffery, I wouldn't trade for a RB ever. If we could get Barkely, sure, other than that, I wouldn't look at RB in any scenario.

I saw a rumor that Lattimore might be a target of the Bears because he played for Dennis Allen at a high level when Allen coached the Saints. I don't know if that is true or not, but if it is true, then go with God my friend.

I don't think there was real rumor. It was me trying to put two and two together. The Bears bringing CJGJ in to reunite him with Allen kind of put more fuel on the fire for me. Now that is obviously moot

With Jayden out, it makes all the sense in the world to grab a young center off a practice squad somewhere and audition that piece to see if he is a fit for next year. It's a low key long term need for us because I'm not sure you want to go pay Biadasz 8 figures a year once this deal comes up.

With Joe Alt having season-ending surgery…I wonder what the Chargers would give up for Laremy Tunsil.

I think it's wrong fit as in Tunsil is a player likely to need significant investment, and doing it as a mid-season patch to be taken off when the superstar returns next season is unlikely to be worth it. He's a good player, we'd likely want more value than the Chargers would give up for half a season of service.

Why the wrong fit? Is Wylie as a LT is a good fit?

NickyJ said it better. They already have Alt and Slater as their starters for the future. Why would they want Tunsil as a rental? This is exactly the type of situation in which a team goes for a bandaid LT like a Cam Robinson. Lucas would've made sense if we still had him around.

Remember their needs are both tackle positions. Wylie would at least solve the need at RT

Not a bad thought if there are any out there. They should have been scouring PS's for weapons and any defensive players through this rough season.

I am hopeful they can at least gain a pick or two with a trade by he end of the day.

Sounds like the Cowboys are planning on making at least one move today for their defense. After last nights showing it is probably too little too late but please, burn your assets Jerry.

Albert Breer’s NFL Trade Deadline Notes and Which Players Could Be on the Move

There are a few teams in the middle. One is the Commanders, who could use some edge help, but have a few pieces (Javon Kinlaw, Deebo Samuel) that teams may be interested in.
