Commanders Trade Deadline Thread

Nobody wants our shitty players... there is not a single difference maker on this team that would improve another team. Only our dumb ass FO values these players. Trading away the same players they brought in this year... would highlight the FO incompetence so they wont trade them on principal.
Wagner.. nope.. why would anyone want a slow ass LB thats a liability at every phase
Ertz.. nah... catch and fall TE are a dime a dozen
who else who is still standing.. Luvu - penalty machine.. doubt it.
Coleman? Martin? Von miller? .. wont get much more than a conditional 7th...not worth the paperwork.

Most of those guys that you are complaining about? They helped us get to the NFCCG last year.

I understand the need to potentially move on from some of them, and I understand most of them have lost a step or are showing decline...but you're acting as if they've done NOTHING for this team, and that's disingenuous, IMO.

so whats your point? last year was last year... they've done nothing for our team this year. they were liabilities last year as well, but even more so this year. We could have gotten similar (if not better) production from other younger FAs with more of a future.
I don't blame the players for not being good... i blame this FO for doubling down on dumb, short sighted decisions that were bound to backfire.

After the Lattimore injury, I don't think anyone we have besides Payne has any real value, beyond maybe like, a 7th or like, a player + 7th for a 6th.

Even Payne, I'm not sure you get more than a 3rd. If you absolutely do not plan to pay him, then you pull the trigger.

Tunsil I guess would have value but he's a foundational piece and good LTs do not grow on trees. We need him for a few more years. Dorance would be on pace to be a good trade piece bc of his totals but with his injury, he's out. Bobby's too old. I don't know what kind of value guys like Newton/Sainristil/Amos have, but even if they would be worth something decent, we need them for the future.

Then again, Peters got a 3rd for Dotson so who knows.

But basically, I think we're out in the market selling Payne and maybe a couple guys for 6ths/7ths, but nothing else. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to moving some late 20's, early 30's guys for 6ths and 7ths tho, it's a bit messy but if you end up with like, two 6ths and two 7ths, either you can try for some gems or bundle some stuff to get a guy in the 5th.

But the clock is ticking...

Seeing rumors on twitter about Deebo, potentially to the Bills.

Dunno how true that is, but Deebo looked like he was on pace for a 2023-esque year (as opposed to his worse, 2024 year performance) before the wheels fell off of the offense and he had an injury. 2023 Deebo could be helpful for someone making a run.

Dunno what kind of value we might get. I'd love for it to be like, the Bills 4th, that is a late 4th, but it might be a 6th or just a 5th again. But he seems to be the only person getting any chatter at the moment.

Seems like FO malpractice not to put real effort into moving Payne for a 3rd at worst, but we’ll never know what we did and didn’t explore

Maybe, but also, our receiver corps is like a town in the old west whose well dried up and the railroad moved north. They could sign like 6 receivers and it wouldn't mean anything for trade purposes.

The way Deebo looked at beginning of the season, you can't convince me he wouldn't be of good help to a contender trying to get over the hump. Especially on an expiring contract, a true rental situation where if he helped get you to the promised land you can thank him and send him on his way if the asking price to retain him is too much.

I also don't see how Payne in a contract year wouldn't help shore of interior D-lines.

However, you need two to tango and maybe no one is biting on what AP is asking for in exchange?

Anything for Von Miller would be okay, he is pretty done

The Jets made some big moves but you know their draft picks will just be squandered
