The UDFA
We absolutely should sell and get some futures

Unfortunately, with him being injured I doubt anyone would make the trade. Only players that could maybe net us decent picks would be Payne and Deebo? Deebo could probably get a 4th or 5th from someone like the steelers who are shopping for a WR.McLaurin
Legit WRTough, tough spot. So many needs at critical positions. Peters and his team really have their work cut out. At least they don’t need a QB.
and really TE, too. I don't think we can rely on Ertz next year and I don't see a TE ready to step up.Legit WR
Legit LB
Legit CB and walk away from Lattimore.
Edge Rusher.
Yeah that's a lot.
What has happened recently is teams are stacking the box and JCM has no place to go. He's still the same back and I for one am excited to have him as the prime back. Agreed QB, OL and RB are the strongest groups. However our first round pick is still getting worked and this can not be ignored.
I think AP is going to have to loosen the purse strings and get a little more comfortable “overspending” on a few impact players with all our cap space. Just have to pick the right guys and structure the contracts well. And then draft well to keep backfilling with cheap talented guys you control for 4-5 years
Agreed, Boone. I'd even add Deebo Sameul to the mix and Payne if he could fetch us something.McLaurin
According to Spotrac, trading Terry at this point would carry a $29m dead cap for 2026.McLaurin
I don't disagree, however I do think who's available factors into this. There just weren't a lot of players you wanted to pay big money for, and most big money contracts don't work out. Some do, but not a ton.I think AP is going to have to loosen the purse strings and get a little more comfortable “overspending” on a few impact players with all our cap space. They could move Deebo and Payne. I doubt they will, but they could.Agreed, Boone. I'd even add Deebo Sameul to the mix and Payne if he could fetch us something.
I tend to think there’s a (slim) chance we go after Brian Thomas.
We need a receiver, not just because of Terry and Brown being out, but also to (try to) change how defenses are playing us.
Yes, there’s fast-tracked chemistry with Daniels, but Daniels can also provide inside info as to whether the trade’s worth it. How good is their relationship? How does he take to coaching? How is he playing on time within a scheme? How would he fit in the locker room? Etc.
As has been mentioned, Payne’s the obvious candidate to offer up. Fair to think that wouldn’t be an even trade (and we’d have to give up more) as Thomas is a young, cost-controlled 1st rounder, but he’s on the block and Payne’s not, and that alone shifts the dynamics. How much? No idea.
The FO surely has to be feeling some pressure. This season’s setting up to be a massive step back and therefore embarrassment.
JCM is that type of back. We just haven't seen him break loose a lot as he's still new in town, but in the open field yeah I'll take my chances with Bill.I agree, and it we had chances to take advantage but misses them over the last 2 weeks between drops / miscommunications / errant throws... etc.
I would personally like to see a scat back type though. A Chris Thompson type that plays all over the field and is deadly in space. We kind of have that in Deebo, but i'd like to get it out of the backfield in a younger version.
All that said, this is the Trade Deadline thread, so I don't see us making any moves at RB in a trade. If anything it's going to be a street walker short term signing. I ultimately don't think we're buyers for anything 'serious' at the deadline. Possible we could be sellers, but I'm not even totally convinced of that.
