The Offense!

Turner needs to pull his head out of his ass and realize just how good this team runs the ball when committed. Dude is Grudenesque
 
Two quick observations after re-watching the game yesterday ...

Only beef I have with McKissic is with finishing runs. Counted several plays yesterday (and previous games) where it looked like he'd get the 1st down, but seemed to either pull up or misjudge or hesitate, get too upright and get stopped short. Would really like to see him keep his lean on and finish more consistently.

The offensive series with 1st and goal from I think the SF seven-yard line, where we ran three straight basically pass-only sets, was the first time I really questioned Scotty T's judgement. That was an awful sequence, and seems to me Turner should have seen it coming. Alex wasn't right yesterday from the first series on ... the calf was clearly limiting him, and his series of bad misses before this series had ME wondering what was up with that. Still scratching my head over that series.

Thats what's frustrating to me. I want to see him on Jet Sweeps, bubble screens, quick plays to get him in space instead of lining him up one on one vs a CB.

We also have JD for those and he runs them much better since he can CATCH THE FREAKING BALL!!! lol

lol I know, but use them all. I don't want Terry taking jet sweeps, but moving guys around and using them to change the eyes of the defense.. Sims is a weapon once he has the ball in his hands. I don't think we've been using him well enough. He hasn't done enough with his limited opportunities, but we have a 53 man roster... exiling a guy to the bench when you don't have any way of upgrading the position at the moment is just wheel spinning.
 
Sims is going to be a good one. I know he's had some struggles since coming back from his injury, but as ST said, he can be a real weapon when we get him the ball. We need to give him some time to settle in.
 
well, in a world full of projects he needs to get to the front burner. that dude is a drive killer with his horrible hands.
 
just to clarify, we are all talking about STEVEN Sims Jr right?
 
Will Turner jr ever call a proper game is the bigger question

Yes, facilities are closed due to protocol on Monday and Tuesday. I BELIEVE we signed Miller on the 17th f(or that's when it went official) and he's required to pass 6 covid tests @ 1 per day. That puts him eligible to practice starting the 23rd barring a positive test... which is Wednesday.
 
I don't know what to make of that graphic ST? I think I would have to have a better understanding of what they mean by 'go for it when they should'. I assume we are talking about 4th downs here and that the teams at the top are the ones that have had the highest percentage of success going for it? If so, I'm not that surprised we are near the top. Rivera is not averse to going for it in a lot of situations, and I think having that attitude breeds confidence in the players. We also have had very good efforts by all of our RBs (especially Barber) in short yardage rushing attempts.

the small print above it says its 'when @ben_bot_baldwin (a bot designed to analyze and determine probability of conversion, and if converted the benefit and likely effect on the game) determines it increases the win probability by 1.5%.

So basically it calculates between the situation and probability, and figures out that if you go for it in this situation, not only is it a convertible down, but in doing so you increase your chances at winning.

The O-line does not get enough credit. Above the average in pass blocking but near the tops in the league in run block win %. THIS is why we want to see more run plays.
 
Won’t happen with Turner the younger anytime soon. This fact escapes him far too often.
