Man, I hope people aren’t taking offense to anything I’ve said.Someone alluded to it earlier. One of the immutable truths of messageboard culture is that when things look suspect, optimistic posters get on the nerves of the pessimistic, and pessimistic posters get on the nerves of the optimistic. It's not a new dynamic. It's human nature. The difference here is, we don't allow the gap between those groups to devolve into namecalling and/or nastiness. Generally speaking, the best approach is to work on the tone and content of our own posts and try to keep some balance and reasonability in our perspectives. Somewhere between Eeyore/Chicken Little and hopeless homerism is that sweet spot![]()
One thing I try to keep in mind when posting is that we all have in real life issues and stresses every day, and sometimes that comes out when posting on topics we are passionate about.
Just for what it’s worth, no one has offended me in the least.
This is a wild world and we can get under each other’s skin easy. Just know, it’s never personal with anyone.
That said, I blame our OL for letting all of these frustrations through and frustrating us. 😆
