I'm going to throw in what may seem to be an unusually generous possible assessment here-it may just be possible that Danny was really uncomfortable with the idea of "putting his friend out in the cold" so to speak. Snyder isn't stupid and I think he's probably aware that Vinny doesn't have much of a future anywhere else in the NFL. Cerrato is Snyder's best friend in all likelihood-and, despite what people, including myself, have said at times, the guy is human-he may be keeping Vinny around in some semi-defined capacity just to keep his friend employed.
