    I played trumpet from 4th - 7th grade, excelled at it, then switched to drums because, metal man, metal, still play to this day but nearly as often as I should as my body just can'

    Bob is #winning :) It's actually more complicated than that. Somewhere along the line I started playing by ear vs. reading my sheet music. Was the best sax player in middle school. But auditions for HS band required cold reading of a piece w/sheet music only. I opted out of that stress exercise.
