Official Game Thread - Week 17 - Browns @ Commanders

Fuck the entire organization. Each and every person from Snyder down to the last assistant.
 
As long as Scott sticks with what got them into contention(run game,ball control,opportunistic shots) Wentz should be OK.

If he goes back to the seven step drops,forget the run...it'll crash and burn pretty quick.

Good. I’m glad they are willing to make a change to shake things up to see if they can win. Three straight games with a chance to take control of a playoff spot and they couldn’t do it. I don’t know if this will work, but they had to make a change at QB to try to get better results on offense. Back to back turnovers in the 4th quarter deep in your own territory put that game out of reach. The last INT was pretty awful since Robinson sat down right in the open spot in the zone and he still threw it right to the defender. The magic has worn off and it’s time to try something different.
 
It'll happen if you force a QB to do things they can't do consistently.

Agreed

Turner and Rivera had an offense that proved it could sustain competitiveness and even over the last 3 games they've gotten away from it. Against San Fran we saw 'some' of it with max protect, and keeping help in to chip, but we still were leaving Leno / Thomas on an island vs Bosa way too often. That's a recipe for disaster. I have major concerns we go back to that game plan we saw early, because of Wentz. We cannot get pass happy. I'm not confident... hopeful... not confident
 
When we lose by 20 to a subpar team like Cleveland we can't go back to Heinicke. Now we'll have to throw Howell to the wolves because this team doesn't know how to dress the rookie or figure out that these are the kinds of games you let a rookie start off in.

This organization is clueless and, once again, ruining good players because they are idiots.
 
I would like to summon up some interest in the QB change but am unable to. This team’s inability to defeat a much less talented but better coached NYG team over a span of three weeks (that included a week off) with a playoff game lurking in the balance told me everything I needed to know about it.
 
Rivera sharing in his presser that he is “not that concerned” with the state of the offensive line in regards to pass protection is mind-numbing to me.
 
Wentz already has more sacks than Heinicke in 2 less games. He's going to get destroyed by Garrett on Sunday

Yeah, this a not good. Everyone thought Heinicke could operate better behind this line, but the last 3 games with strip sacks proved otherwise. At some point they are going to have to focus on pass protection. If they go back to 7 step drops with Wentz feeling pressure on his 5th step, this will definitely not work.
 
The captain of the Titanic was not that concerned about icebergs either.
 
Since we didn't let Heinicke audible or run when he felt pressure I fully expect clowney and Garrett to get 10 sacks between them.

Wentz is a statue and will probably die

The Playoffs are pretty much here. Wentz is starting which is far preferable because Rivera and Turner don't seem to be able to coach to Heinicke's strengths, which are limited in the first place. Not sure they are capable of coaching to anyone's strengths. Rivera will ultimately make a decision that dooms the team and then blame everyone around him.
 
Not a great start to the practice week....
