Burner's Burning Questions: Offseason Edition, Free Agency 2014

The Iggles really played their hand badly when it came to him. Everyone knew he was getting released. They almost were ready to take a bag of used, unwashed jocks for him. Total jackass.

Yeah... glad to see him out of the Division, though.

Wow, latest rumors had him staying in Philly so that's shocking to me given his talent level!

This is interesting, for those wondering if we should go after Jackson, or if Britt might be better. Or if we should pass (pun intended) on both.

FWIW: D. Jackson has been arrested 1 time (tinted windows led to police finding weed); K. Britt has at least 9 arrests.

I would sign Desean and wouldnt even think twice about it. but I would sign him to a backloaded deal predicated on him staying out of trouble, and I would make that deal very rich, like poison pill rich, just with the get out clauses that are clear that any crimes of gang dealings result in by by with nothing.

nope, not interested... if we could get him at a decent price before i'd consider it... now off the field links to murders and the oblivious mindset he's had about being dealt.. i'll pass. Don't want him in our locker room

You might sign that deal but I seriously doubt that he would.

Yeah - because Desean Jackson is JUST what this team needs...

I don't know much about his off the field stuff, but he would be a great match with Garcon. If he's got his head together he'd be worth a look imo. Do we know they cut him for that stuff, or was it more about the money? He had a huge salary, and the eagles are infamous for being cheap. I don't believe a lot of what I read from espn and other sources about some of that stuff. Maybe this is what DJax needed to motivate hime and focus him.

Like Haynesworth?

its about perception, guys who are ego driven are easy to manipulate, just bring him in, give him the hard sell, publicise the deal, make it rich, and he would sign I am almost certain, because if he didnt sign a deal that overpays him but holds him accountable, he looks really bad. we need to start learning to spin things better lol.

Lol you torch the living hell out of this regime about not addressing the 'true' needs of our team, yet you want us to spend time signing guys like Desean Jackson? Last time i checked he doesn't play RG, or S. Come on guy you're gonna need to do better then this.

I'd bet that Desean will end up in KC pretty quickly. Andy Reid reunion time.

I'd rather lose without a guy like Jackson than win with him.

I wouldn't sign him if played for free. Even after all the Super Bowls he led Philly to.

Oh wait. Nevermind.
