2024 Off-season Activity / Camp thread

The first year since Clinton that the little troll with the wart on his nose won’t be there 👏

I'm excited, in fact I'm very excited to see this get started. I'm also prepared to be disappointed. If I may use a baseball analogy, as an Orioles fan, I compare this to the Jackson Holiday situation. I was extremely excited to see him called up. He showed all the signs of being ready for the big leagues, but he wasn't ready, nor should he have been. He rocketed through the minors and eventually needed to be sent down showing that he still had some more work to do. That's how I see this team. The rebuild from the last ownership and front office seems to be taking off like a rocket ship. But is team ready to be dominant, no. Are they ready to compete, maybe. Could they go out and play poorly enough to get a top 5 pick next year, yes they could. Does that temper my excitement about seeing what happens once this team gets on the field, not one iota.

Hopefully, Daniels' selection will help turn this team around over the next several years.

I remember going to Ovechkin's first game with Washington, a 3-2 win over Columbus, in which he scored 2 goals and assisted on the third one.

After all that pain of finishing at the bottom and losing games 5-0 it was ultimately worth it.

As I said to the folks next to us after the game as we were leaving 'this is a whole new era we are looking at here' ;)

I kind of miss wide receiver numbers in the 80's

Tress is the GOAT.
Love this dude. I can see a Tress jersey on my future purchase list. Hope his new number becomes a best seller!

You may not have to hold a number open for Dyami Brown for very long.

With McLaurin and Dotson as the starters on the outside and McCaffrey the slot receiver with Crowder being the team's primary returner and backup slot receiver, that doesn't leave much room for Brown now going into his fourth season.

Usually that last receiver spot is reserved for a physically talented developmental player that can contribute right away on special teams.

Brown is not that player.

Agreed! He hasn't played special teams. And he had EVERY chance to produce last year with a super-pass-happy offense and his college QB. Still didn't show up.

The host just asked if the fellas remembered a rookie camp with this much excitement and buzz. Smoot said “Yeah, the year they did drafted Fred Smoot, it was just like this.” Absolutely hilarious. It’s around the 37 minute mark of that video above.

its amazing how much fun they can have when they're not constantly talking about scandal, fan abuse, and a ton of other drama.
