It's not an asterisks so much as an extra level to the discussion. No one is taking wins away or trying to give Washington's playoff spot to a team with a worse record. The easy schedule is just PART of the discussion. It's not something people need to take personally. Washington is going to get...
Yep. Every team left on the schedule *could* beat Washington. Dallas and Philly have already proven that, and Atlanta has shown the ability to score (at times). I don't see Atlanta winning the game though. They have looked horrible lately.
How does that help with 2 more weeks to go? Isn't 2/7 still the most likely way these two teams play one another? And, if so, wouldn't a Philly win/Washington loss still help that more than hurt it?
Good post.
It felt rushed and it felt rolled out by a group of people with no connection to or understanding of our tradition. A few hired guns, none of whom seemed destined to be here long-term, came up with a generic name and some even more generic branding. Some of the original color scheme...
HoggLife - I believe he's very good, but I wouldn't do a victory lap after a game against Haener/Rattler with that WR corps. If he plays well against the last 3 teams (with either very good WRs or a proven QB) then I think it's something you can brag about.
I've been a fan since 1982 and I think Brian Robinson might be about the 1,000th player who's been overrated by our fan base. People thought the Denarian McCantses and Rock Cartrights of the 2000s were springing a trap on the NFL.
It really was - the thought of how that video was used during meetings and passed around was appalling. I'm glad the girls lawyered up and got paid for that, but still.
I think these are all hard to separate...because any of them without the others, probably are just footnotes. The cheerleader tape and Snyder settling with those women, the financial things, the pressure applied by the minority owners/sponsors which resulted in the bad branding...there was just...
Seattle losing last night more or less handed the 7-seed to Washington, barring a collapse by the Skins. I don't see Seattle doing any better than 2-1 down the stretch...and even that would be impressive. So, unless Washington loses all 3 of its final games, I see it coming down to tie-breakers...
Yep, the increased fan pressure and apathy played a small role for sure - I think it helped shine a light on how disgusted everyone had gotten with the laundry list of things that were coming to light about Snyder. For years, many were able to overlook him being a dufus with no football...
I'd read back a little further. You can agree with Riggo at your peril, but nobody who's been active over the past 2-4 days is advocating for "Redskins" to come back (at least not realistically). The debate was really down to "would the commissioner let the team rebrand early now that there's...
Why is it pointless? People can like aspects of the team that you don't care about, can't they? People can like the uniforms, the fight song, the pre-game discussion, the history, tailgating before games, whatever about this organization that has resonated with them through the years. Maybe you...
OK, you MUST be intentionally trolling. Of course the commissioner would need to approve, but do you truly think that he wouldn't in this case? You don't think a new owner replacing one of the worst in North American sports history would be given a clean slate if he asked for it? Especially...
