So when will the Redskins Logo get back on the helmet and playing field?

Said the guy that had to be told three times that ownership could change the name anytime they want.

Gotcha.

Ok, reading is an issue for you so I'll make it perfectly clear FOR THE THIRD TIME: WITH COMMISSIONER APPROVAL. It has to be approved. Did you read that this time? Got it? Good.

OK, you MUST be intentionally trolling. Of course the commissioner would need to approve, but do you truly think that he wouldn't in this case? You don't think a new owner replacing one of the worst in North American sports history would be given a clean slate if he asked for it? Especially considering the commissioner works for the owners, who are all incentivized to improve upon bad branding?

Didn't respond to this" need approval " because it's such a ridiculous point.

I am certain that the possibility of a name change was discussed between Harris, the Commissioner, and the other owners before the approval of the sale.
With Harris and Rales both being asked about it and neither saying " We're sticking with Commanders " or shooting down the idea of a rebrand, I'm not sure what would make you think they would still need permission.

Maybe. Maybe not. I am not trolling--I just get annoyed with people who only read what they want to read. Like for example, they clearly are uninterested in the name right now. So they're not even asking for an exemption. IT's a pointless debate--which you've also ignored and continue to harp on one aspect. So, I guess, you're right? Congrats! For someone who wasn't trying to win an argument, you sure are arguing a lot.

For someone who doesn't care about a name change, you sure are posting in a name change thread a lot.

Because it's so ungodly pointless--like I demonstrated repeatedly--you probably missed that reading what you wanted to read and not arguing.

I have such low tolerance for Name Nuts, it's a weakness, what can I say.

Why is it pointless? People can like aspects of the team that you don't care about, can't they? People can like the uniforms, the fight song, the pre-game discussion, the history, tailgating before games, whatever about this organization that has resonated with them through the years. Maybe you love talking about the draft and someone else would say "it's such a pointless discussion" since 90% of the people drafted never pan out and have any impact. Should those people repeatedly post in the draft threads about how stupid draft discussions are?

Oh wait? People CAN like the uniforms and fight song. I'm sorry, I was clearly informed NO ONE does. Wow. Huge if true.

The draft is important. It builds the future. People actually do pan out from the draft. It's a key building block to building a winning team. It's actually a thing that will actually happen.
History is something that actually happened. Tailgates actually happen and they have pre-game discussion that revolves around a game with will actually happen.

You know what's not happening anytime soon? Name change.

You want to waste your time coming up with names that will never happen. Whatever floats your boat chief.

Feel free to ignore me if you don't like what I post or say. I'll miss your jokes though.

It was the “Redskins or nothing” crowd shouting into the void that annoyed me.

Commanders I have been on record as hating since before it was picked. Got a timeout once for harping on it as a lame attempt to pander to the military that Rivera would be horny for—to be fair that was fairly political in nature which is why I also won’t make it part of my brand here lol. I’m on my best behavior since I just hung up my coat and said my hellos here, I’m cognizant of being the new guy!

Hey me too, look at me over here breaking bad, if ya catch my drift 😁

I was thinking the same thing 😅

Also Conn must have turned over a new leaf because on es there were few topics that annoyed him more then the name change discussion.

I’m waiting for Jumbo to jump in at some point and tell us to take it to the Fantasy Football Forum 🤣

For what it's worth I kind of agree with Riggo. A name change DOES need the approval of the commissioner. And even though he works for Harris he also works for the other 31 owners and it's absolutely no guarantee a name change to Redskins will be approved. I don't think it will ever be attempted. Some of you need to come to understand that regardless of what the latest polls of Native Americans says using a name to describe a group of people by the color of their skin is wrong IMO.

But it sure pisses me off when other fans do a tomahawk chop. You can't stop 60,000 people but the networks are showing it like it's some great thing and it's not.

No one here is really arguing " Redskins ".
Mostly just about a change in general.

People do it regularly.

It's fine to have an opinion. What's not cool is aggressively mocking the hell out of what is probably a majority of the fanbase because you're 'tired of hearing about it'.

I don't know if the name will change. But I do think more fans desire it than don't. Most also understand it will never be Redskins again, nor will it likely have a Native American theme if it does change. What I do know is that the fans who want it to change aren't stupid. Nor do they have any less right to a preference than the poor bastards who are 'tired' of hearing about it :)

DGF, It's really not fair for us (meaning I, and any other non-NA) to tell NA what they should and should not be offended over, in fact it is racist and demeaning. They are allowed to think for themselves, I think that is a fair point that we all can agree on. Also, I am assuming that bringing back "Redskins" is not the principal driver of the name change debate, there are a ton of other options out there.
