The 2025 Draft Thread

Please, some dumbass fall in love with Jaxson Dart.
There was at least one big time mock (CBS I think) that had the Giants drafting Jaxson Dart at three because they were that desperate for a QB.

The Tunsil trade makes me feel like a trade back from 29 is even more likely unless a perfect pick is there.

You've got 29, 61, Texans 4th, and then nothing until the 7th.

Trade back into mid 2nd and grab a 3rd this year and maybe a 3rd next year in the process. If you, for example, like all of the top 12 edge players, and 5 of them are left at 29, why not trade back to like 43 and grab one of them while adding picks.
What happened to 6th round pick?

I don't know. I think there may be an impact pass rusher there/DL there, and we still need one of those.

In full agreement. Maybe we trade out of the 2nd to go pick up another Day 3 pick

Also, if we trade for Hendrickson, there will be some good corners at 29. We could probably move back just a little and still grab a quality CB though.

Does anybody else here think Tyleik Williams could fall some? He doesn't really have any pass rush chops. As a pure run stopper only, I could see him falling into the 3rd even. Maybe that's nuts.

I'd love to pair Tyleik with Johnny Newton. Whelp, I missed we signed Kinlaw, which is a great move.

At this point, given how things have played out in FA, I’d be surprised if we don’t end up with a DE if we stay at 29. At best, here on out, we’ll land a veteran EDGE on a 1 year deal and the underwhelming Armstrong will enter the last year of his deal in 2026

At 29, I think you take the best player that falls. It'd be wonderful if a good edge landed there, but we are not in the draft driver seat.

Most of the mocks agree with you though. I think it likely, too. If Rivera were here I'd be sure we would take an edge even if the best edge was the sixth highest player left on their board and a top ten somehow slid into our laps.

It wouldn't surprise me if we don't trade our #29 and possibly #61 and move back with both picks to accumulate more day two and three picks. Holes to fill and more depth needed.

Multiple meetings now with Bowman. I'd love to have Sampson who is mentioned in that tweet. Sampson IMO is the closest version to a poor man's Hendrickson. Tuten IMO the poor man's version of Sampson.

AP could be real creative with our 1st and 2nd picks. Food for thought. He could trade with Cleveland.

Cleveland gets our 1st (#29) and 4th (#128) acquired from Houston in the Tunsil deal)
Washington gets their 2nd (#33) and 4th (#104)

AP takes calls for the #33 as he has overnight until the pick on Friday to trade it. He can acquire a lower 2nd and a 3rd or more.

He could take the our 2nd (#61) and trade it to SF.

San Francisco gets our 2nd (#61)
Washington get their 3rd (75), 4th (#113) and 7th (#227)

We end up in total: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 6th, 7th, 7th. That 2nd is the #33 overall and it gets trade down and we scope up a lower 2nd and at minimum 3rd depending on how far we fall in the 2nd. We may end up with an additional 4th or 5th too (i.e., 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 2nd, 3rd, 5th) with the trade of the 2nd from Cleveland.

I like both Bowman and Stutsman from Oklahoma. Bowman seems like a perfect fit in DQ's/Whitt's D.

Dumas-Johnson Kentucky LB I like too - going over the Box types now. Demetrius Knight SC LB is rated very high - some have him #3 overall in the group. Not seeing that level from him personally. This is the hardest position for me to nail down and OLB because some should be FT pass rushers and not off ball LB's in my humble opinion :)

AP has had a lot of success drafting mid round LB's and WR's especially. I expect him to be looking to continue that string.

Also with Mariota signed, I could see him look for a 3rd string QB in the later rounds. Barring injury to JD and Mariota it would give them a chance to learn the system and experience the speed of he NFL game. I don't believe in Hartman. Yeah I know, he has a relationship with JD, but so does the rest of the team.

But most important at this stage in the game, they DL and CB, then RB,WR and more OL

I'd rank importance as this order. It can change in a minute though: DL, CB, S, OL, WR, RB. All important though.

We seem to be meeting with a lot of safeties and CBs so you may well be right (not sure about DTs)
