2021 Draft Thread - Officially pick 19th - 1st post updated with picks

And Kyle Trask has approached 70% 2 seasons in a row, but he's 'slow' and 'unathletic'...
 
I like Trask the most out of the non 1st rounders honestly. Dude just knows where to go with the ball imho
 
Saying that Trask is slow and can't scramble means that some people have relied on "scouting" reports only. It's lazy and not doing true homework. Sure, he is not a downfield threat, but he isn't built to be that kind of QB.

I prefer Trask over Mond, but not by much.
 
Zaven gained 11 pounds since his pro day and is up to 270?? Ok is he transitioning to outside 3-4 lb/de? If that is the case then he is not getting drafted by us.
Jamin Davis highlights are not as flashy as Zaven’s but he is a rock solid player and a true leader.
 
I am starting to hope that we trade back a few spots in round 1 and move up in round 2. I would love Nick Bolton in Round 2. If a Caleb Farley is around in round 1 or even a Teven Jenkins or Vera-Tucker we can swoop em up.

Very observant. This is why I have moved Collins below Davis. Right now, Davis would be a better fit. Guessing that a couple of teams who run the 3-4 have told Collins that they want him as an edge. He will do fine there, but I think he is throwing away some greater potential by doing so.
 
If Darrisaw goes before they can get him, I'd love Teven Jenkins on this team.

Ron likes versatility and he can play right or left but the dude also has a mean streak in him that I love to see in linemen.

Just a shade off topic: What is your guy's opinion on Chris Cooley and his player evaluation?

It's been interesting to hear his takes on Sheehan's pods the last few weeks on Qbs.......

I will be very surprised if Darrisaw is there at #19. But there are a lot of really good OTs in this draft. And Burgundy Burner, I read an interview with Collins that indicated he didn't intentionally gain weight to 'be an edge rusher' and that he wanted to play whatever position allowed him to move around the most and close on the ball. Didn't sound to me like he had his mind set on being an edge rusher. I think way too much is being made of a small weight gain, folks are reading into it. I'm confident if they were to draft him, and told him they want him at 250-260 max and that he'll be a starting LB, that's what he's going to do.

Zach Wilson is QB1,Lawrence 1b
Trey Lance is not a starter, he's a project that will take time
Same with Mond because his feet and mechanics need work
Mac Jones is the best "processor" in the draft and can see why Kyle would have interest
Davis Mills is interesting. Small sample size but would be best to sit a year
Kyle Trask : would be best to sit a year

That's just remembering off the top of my head....
 
Graziano on ESPN Get Up just reported that Washington has reached out to AT LEAST 1 team that's currently picking in the top 10.

I for one would not be thrilled if we go up for a QB. That being said, I am not going to put too much stock into it, and simply chalk it up to the team doing their due diligence. We know the team is in the QB market, and sitting on their hands would honestly be a disservice to the fanbase. At the end of the day, if we weren't willing to pay heavily for Stafford, a proven guy in the NFL, I can't see us using an immense amount of draft capital to go up and get a rookie QB that might have some questions/concerns attached to him.

Some of these rumors include that they are looking to move up but that it’s not for a QB 😳
 
They must have A LOT of confidence in Darnold.
 
I’m sure it’s one of two things - either Bridgewater is disgruntled because they brought Darnold in to start (after gutting him of almost all the offensive weapons there in Carolina, he’s probably justifiably pissed), or they don’t want Darnold to have any pressure behind him (which for me would be a red flag if he can’t handle that kind of thing).
 
I just have a feeling Washington is going to move up and make some noise. Things have been relatively quiet leading up to the draft for Washington and with several high draft picks in recent years balling out for the club a move to draft a franchise qb tomorrow night wouldn't surprise me.

With a franchise quarterback this division looks like it could be ours over the next 4-5 years.
