I'm planning my trip to the Dominican for the entire month of December. I will be in Santo Domingo for the entire month except for about 10 days at the two following locations

First the mountains in Jarabacoa

Than the beach in Sosua

Every Sunday night, we have tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Tonight, it is the same. Simple and tasty.
A slight twist by a brew pub near me is tomato bisque with grilled cheese croutons. It's a big hit when they offer the special during the late fall and winter months.

I know, not quite as simple but not that much harder either

Not cheese soup with tomato sandwiches?
🤣🤣🤣

I have tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches a couple of times a month. I'm a dipper and proud of it.

That's got to be at the top of any American kid's comfort foods list, right? It's hard to think of that combo without thinking of Mom.

It's Brunswick stew season here in NC, so who am I to argue? Making a huge pot from scratch, only concession being I bought some pulled pork to add.

House smells glorious.

I'll be getting me some Brunswick stew in two weeks when whe return from Myrtle.

There is a BBQ joint called Parkers in Wlson, NC and we'll swing by for a large carryout of their stew along with their chopped BBQ and corn sticks.

Love me some Brunswick stew.

My fave BBQ place here has a cornbread waffle that's amazeballs. Their sister store across the street (one of my fave bars) sells the same stew and has an "Oinker Burger"...you guessed it, a burger topped with pulled pork. Also amazeballs.

All I got is steamed shrimp tonight tossed with a shit ton of Old Bay. Cocktail sauce on the side. 21/25 @ $6.38 a pound. šŸ˜€
