I said it before, this is the guy we drafted. This is his game, and he's really good at it. Either we tailor the offense to his strengths or plus a square peg into a round hole and accept the outcome.

This sort of thing is done often in this fan base (and possibly others?) after a lose. It's part of the immediate, emotional reaction to the game. It's based on what you think you saw. There are lot of people who think we ran banks to to much when the reality is he only ran the ball 3 times...

Its "loss" - sorry, HUGE pet peeve. And 3 times is about 2 times too many.

It's not about being on a high horse. It's about reading the play by play log. You've been wrong in every attempt to defend the idea that we abandoned the run. We turned to the run with the exception of the last 2 drives in which there was less than 8 minutes, we were down 2 scores, and we had no timeouts; a situation in which we couldn't afford to run the ball.

Again, we both read the play-by-play log, and we have differing opinions on it. So, agree to disagree dude, instead of being completely condescending and dismissive.

That's all I saying. The numbers prove how many times the team ran the ball.

Sort of...but since we're coming from different angles, 15 of those 34 runs are not what I'm talking about.

It's not the "offense" we are complaining about...it is the questionable play calling that I have seen for 2 years under Kyle Shanahan. It's a pattern that a novice like me can see. You don't think defensive coordinators can't see it?

Offense put up 24 points and lost the TOP battle. While its not necessarily the problem, its not necessarily the juggernaut you're making it out to be.

Apparently not, El. He had the best offense in the league for two years in Houston and is working doing it here this year now that he has a QB worth the name.

LOL. Okay dude, I'm done with this argument. You're clearly incapable of agreeing to disagree, and just want to argue to argue at this point. So, have at it, but I'm not going to participate anymore.
 
and my condescension and dismissiveness is because i've gone out of my way to break it down for you in many different ways and you still refuse to see a very basic fact. :)
not trying to be rude, i just don't know how else to break it down. you're wrong.

this fanbase continues to rail against play calling and it's become clear they don't have a clue as to what they're talking about. ESPN and the NFL both provide the stats publicaly, for free, to be looked at at any point in time. I suggest some of you start using these resources :)

i started off by saying i cannot stand how often our fan base does this. you're continuing to do it, so you're getting the response i feel that deserves. our local media does it too. the cast of clowns on 106.7 the garbage are exceptionally good at it.

we're going to drive what has been the best coaching staff out of town with this type of attitude. sorry i'm not just going to sit back and watch it happen and do nothing to try to stop it. the stats do not lie...
 
T, its possible for two people to look at the same set of data and draw different conclusions. Just stop, seriously.
 
I think the problem here is differing definitions of "abandoning the run".

I think it's Cumbaya time as well.

And I DEFINITELY think Neo needs to start serving up some brews. Pronto.
 
Maybe this will help, t - but probably not.

The running game helps establish the passing game and everything else. Everything can come off the running game. If the defense thinks the ball is going to the RB, then there are tons of other things that can happen. This only works when you give the ball to the RB enough times for the opposing D to respect it. This is the simple version of the play-action strategy - you run run run and then fake the run to catch the defense cheating towards run.

This works for all offensive philosophies, including the option. Give it to the RB, especially when he's gashing them, and it opens up everything else. This is the basic philosophy of Redskins football for the past billion years.

Does that help you understand where I'm coming from?
 
tshile, it's ok bud. It IS less than 24 hours after a loss. I think I should have bowed out when I meant to the first time. People are still working out the post-loss frustration and there's nothing wrong with that.

Whoops, my bad. Still only put up 24 points, and started two drives with 53 yards and 47 yards to go, and got zero points.

Its going to be a frustrating season if we only give the ball to RBs 19 times a game. :(
 
Check out the Vikings box score. Ponder rushed 7 times for 33 yards & a TD, Percy Harvin rushed 1 time for 9 yards, but their RBs got 33 carries! The result? They took down one of the league's top teams.

i agree :)

i have a huge problem with the over reaction after both wins and losses (see my comments post-saints win about maybe them sucking this year :) ) and got carried away :)
