The Stadium Thread

The secondary floating islands are for the tailgates.

I actually have 4 lithographs of his here in the house. Limited run, x/100, signed.

Those are sweet!

Doesn’t DC have to propose their budget in April, and wasn’t that when we were potentially going to hear about the stadium deal?

i imagine that if the team is going to cover 85% of the cost than it's probably damn close. I dont think the team is looking elsewhere if they're willing to shell out that kind of cash.

I do wonder what control they have on future revenue too.... they'll likely be getting a massive amount of the gate for Commanders games, as well as other things since the city appears to not be on the hook for a lot of the up front cash.

As a STH, I have mixed feelings. We are going to be jammed firmly in the ass with PSL's and price increases. That, and the RFK location sucks....I'd venture to say all the people hearkening for the "good old days" either never attended games there, or it's been so long they forget what a cluster that traffic in that area is. Metro isn't a viable option if you tailgate...unless they let us take grills, coolers & canopies on the trains.....

I suspect that would happen no matter the location. As someone who only goes to a game or two a year I love the idea of DC especially because of how it is tied to nostalgia. It's also going to be so much easier a Metro ride.

They’re going to figure out tailgating somehow. Other urban stadiums have figured it out.

On the location front, the fact it’s more central really is good for those of us in VA. Also, having it in the district actually makes the “Washington” correct.

New home. I love it. I bet the design is going to be top notch, based on what I see from our HOGs

I Really want it to rock/sway/bounce like the old place. Surely there's a way to safely engineer that feature into the plans?

Does this mean no moat???? I really wanted a moat.
I wanted a moar with alligators in it and then MISTAKENLY trip obnoxious opposing fans so we could see if they were better swimmers (probably drunk) than said alligators.

Are we sure alligators would eat Eagles fans?

Good points. The tailgating is the least of it...we tailgated at RFK, (lot 8), and will continue to do so..that DC traffic drives me bat-shit crazy.
That said, we'll deal with it, besides Mrs. Skinfan and I will be retired so it won't suck like it does when we're working. We're also spoiled because Northwest is only a 35 minute drive.🙃
My biggest worry is that Harris & Company are not afraid to jack up prices. The cost of our tickets went up for the 2025 season and they raked a bunch of fans over the coals in the 100's by making them "Touchdown Club" seats for a lot more $$$.

Think PSL’s or not. Gonna be very hard without them, but HOG would be legends if they didn’t include them.
