The Stadium Thread

I don't think location will dictate price hikes. I think it's going to happen no matter what, no matter where. I also don't think it should be vilified as it is still a business. Everyone who has ever worked a day in their life has done it with the goal of being profitable. We can speculate all we want, but the extent of cost that the team now has to endure is hard to truly grasp. The prices are going to go up, and it's because the cost of doing business dictates it. Obviously there is a level of thinking about what is 'too much' and what's 'acceptable...' but we also have no idea.

Exactly

Think PSL’s or not. Gonna be very hard without them, but HOG would be legends if they didn’t include them.
There will be PSL's. I might have to flip a few bottles of Mellow Corn to pay for them....

So what happens to Landover? Does Harris sell it, redevelop it? I wonder how much that land is worth?

I thought they had an agreement in place with MD that they had to redevelop it. I'd think building the new team headquarters there would be a good idea and sell Ashburn for another data center.

This run by the same guy who protested Nats Park--a fully taxpayer funded stadium that has helped revitalize the Navy Yard. That whole area is now filled with restaurants, hotels, all up and down the waterfront. It has also now paid off the initial bond and is turning a profit. I am sure this will go as well.

I think you’re mostly right. But season ticket holders will have every right to scream bloody murder if they get brutalized monetarily for similar seats in a new stadium. Yes - the reality is Harris is likely going to try and make as much from stadium operations as possible. Who wouldn’t? But one would hope that they don’t want to alienate folks who have stuck with the team and shown up every Sunday through decades of woeful on-the-field play in return. There is a balance in there somewhere.

But if they do gouge the hell out of current STHs or worse, make season tickets or PSLs so outrageously expensive that only wine and cheesers and corporate types can afford them, that will be an organizational failure and STHs will have every right to scream bloody murder.

If only there was a way to delineate between STH that are actually fans and those that are in business to resell seats for profit.

Ask them to share their views on Dan Snyder. Anyone who doesn't look in danger of having a stroke isn't a real fan. :ROFLMAO:

Unless they have lived under a rock unlikely that anyone, fan or not, has a favorable view of Dan Snyder. :sneaky:

Of course I'm ecstatic over this news. I think Landover becomes the team headquarters, and Ashburn becomes a training camp facility. Let's rock 🤘

I have a hard time believing that the majority of the organization’s staff and players would be excited to relocate themselves and their families to that surrounding area or to commute there on a daily basis.

It necessarily true—they could have done business with Snyder and have the same reaction

Good points. The tailgating is the least of it...we tailgated at RFK, (lot 8), and will continue to do so..that DC traffic drives me bat-shit crazy.
That said, we'll deal with it, besides Mrs. Skinfan and I will be retired so it won't suck like it does when we're working. We're also spoiled because Northwest is only a 35 minute drive.🙃
My biggest worry is that Harris & Company are not afraid to jack up prices. The cost of our tickets went up for the 2025 season and they raked a bunch of fans over the coals in the 100's by making them "Touchdown Club" seats for a lot more $$$.
I don’t know where you live but getting to fka Fedex has been a nightmare for 30 years. Especially for those of us in VA.

I did have it down to a science when I was a season ticket holder. If you left exactly at 00:00, knew where your car was, and HUSTLED, you could get out reasonably quickly. However I would listen to traffic an hour and a half after the game and it was still clogged up. If you missed the window, you were stuck.

The fact is any venue where you pack 60,000 people into is going to cause a jam. Which is why metro access is so important. And if they are building a waterfront, maybe they can have some ferries.

I don’t think they can move the hq pit of VA because some gambling thing is tied to HQ being in VA.

Yep, any concert, any sporting event, anything of decent size means awful congestion and potential road rage.

Heck, I've left the Ren Faire near closing and that drove me crazy.

Considering housing prices, I cannot believe that parcel of land is not a gold mine. It's already surrounded by housing developments.

Some developer could build Raljon Roost, Snyderville, Squiretown, Residences at the Greens, or Le Jardin Peaux Rouges.

If not, the FBI will be shopping about the time the wrecking ball arrives.
