The choice really came down to whether to retain OZ vs. Noah Brown. I was in the Brown camp as I thought he was more impactful before the kidney injury which seemed to me like the kind of unprecedented bad luck thing unlikely to recur. I was wrong. OZ made important plays in the playoffs and while inconsistent grew dependable by the end of the season, but most importantly he's there. Availability trumps potential on the bench or on IR.
P.S. for what it's worth, I hadn't heard Russel say anything about Terry. My paranoia was all my own lol
I disagree. OZ signed a 1 year deal for less than $2M and he plays a different position than Noah. They could have brought him back as the guy behind Deebo.
As someone else pointed out, he probably left for the Bears due to opportunity as there was a hole at slot for them after Keenan Allen left
