The 2025 Free Agency Thread

Kupps been hearing about his 4.67 combine 40 time his whole career - and been getting open and being highly productive against supposedly faster guys his whole career. We would be lucky as hell to have him as our 3rd WR imho.

Dyami Brown was a speed guy who could stretch the defense. Unfortunately, he wasn't a very good WR.
Weirdly, Dyami was a speed guy who couldn't stretch the field. I mean the amount of times he really broke open and burned anyone has to be under five, doesn't it?

I won't hate Kupp if we get him, but he's not someone I would sign. We talked about speed, but there's also something to be said about forming career tandems. Daniels deserves to have a receiver he can build that multi-year, even career long rapport with. Right now, the closest we have is probably Terry and while I can imagin 4-5 more good years out of him, he is already 29.

Dan Snyder never had a Jayden Daniels on a rookie contract. Just saying.
this is true...but he did have a Jason Campbell on a rookie contract and tried to trade for a 30 year old Chad Johnson for 3 first round draft picks.

this is probably a bigger indictment on the Bengals than Snyder though lol....why wouldn't they take that?

Anyone think we should talk to Kupp about what he is looking to be paid and if its not too much get him here?
Nah. Unless he has no market and is cheap. I don’t think he will be cheap and we already have two WRs on big deals.

I think we need to get younger and add speed at that #3 WR spot. I know we need an edge rusher but depending who is left I would not hate using the first round pick on Matthew Golden.

That’s because getting open isn’t just about speed - which is what Kupp has been proving for years.

Anyway - it’s not either/or. They are developing McCaffery and I hope they draft a young guy but there is plenty of room in the WR room right now.

Only, reason I brought up Snyder was that making the big splash often is not important. Who was a high quality free agent in this draft? Stanley? we tried. I can't think of another player I would have tried to sign at the contracts they signed. (Would have liked Mack but he never became available)

I really like Mosley and the way he plays. I just dont see a fit for him here with Wagner

I don't love our offseason so far. I don't think we improved and we've hurt our future trading away picks.

CB is a huge need, Lattimore is not going to stay healthy and that will cost us games.

I'd still like to see us go after Dex Lawrence. Our DL is bad. Kinlaw has been bad his entire career, either from injuries or performance. A ton of physical talent. His knock coming out of college was inconsistent and lazy. All potential and he hasn't shown anything to think that's changed.

Tunsil is good, but not much of a needle mover either and cost us picks.

Harris is the one player that I think is a big upgrade and I liked Chinn.

This especially. Yet it's rarely mentioned.

Really noticeable watching the clips of Jones and Harris that they both arrive violently! Love that.

Scanning through what’s still available at Edge in FA came across K'lavon Chaisson. Former 1st rounder for the Jags. Didn’t get extended. Joined the Raiders in the summer and seems to have worked it out a bit with some better production this season. Not sure what his market would be like. Younger than Fowler but perhaps is more of a risk.

JT says Kinlaw was drafted out of SC as an edge.
I can't shake the notion we'll have Kinlaw outside, a stout edge offset by and paired up beautifully with Hendrickson a more pure rush edge.

Mann and Manley circa 2025

Remember how fired up Dexter would get when they ran at him and failed. Sudafed FTW.
