20. Shemar Stewart – Deatrich Wise Jr.​

Stewart’s NFL projections seem to have a wide range right now. Some would tell you he’s destined for the top 10, and his NFL comparisons are lofty because of it. I see a very athletically gifted defensive lineman who brings a lot of versatility due to his size (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) and explosiveness. Yet, there is something to his limited production, as he did not record a sack total above 1.5 in each of his three seasons at Texas A&M. Stats aren’t everything, of course, but it is hard for me to compare him to some of the top difference-making defensive linemen in the NFL when we haven’t seen close to that kind of production from Stewart in college. I like the Deatrich Wise NFL comparison for him. Stewart and Wise are built similarly, and Wise is an underrated but very important versatile defensive lineman for the Patriots.

Weirdly, Dyami was a speed guy who couldn't stretch the field. I mean the amount of times he really broke open and burned anyone has to be under five, doesn't it?

I won't hate Kupp if we get him, but he's not someone I would sign. We talked about speed, but there's also something to be said about forming career tandems. Daniels deserves to have a receiver he can build that multi-year, even career long rapport with. Right now, the closest we have is probably Terry and while I can imagin 4-5 more good years out of him, he is already 29.

Deatrich Wise Jr. just had the best NFL game of his life when he strolled into the locker room and put on a pair of big-rimmed gold and black glasses. In front of his nautical blue Patriots long-sleeved shirt, sat a gold chain with a lion pendant.

“That’s him all the way,” Daniel said. “He’s just a great guy on and off the field. He just has that personality. It’s authentic. That’s just who he is. Smiling. Just down to earth. He’s been that personality forever.”


...He’s big and he plays mean. Once he starts to talk, however, you see a person with a gentle soul who gets along with everyone. He’s someone whose teachers, teammates, coaches and family adore.

I’m glad to have Mariota back, he’s a good compliment to JD5 in the QB room and a good backup. He is a vet who has some things in common with JD (highly drafted Heismann winner, mobile), and given how well he played against Dallas last year, I think he could win us some games if called upon.

Jonathan Jones looks like a great addition. He sounds like a high character guy who will fit right in here. I wonder if he can still run a 4.3” 40.
