Not sure about the quality, but he has a good attitude toward life and it is a slow week.

Well, here we are again. Our defense seemed to be pretty good. An edge and a run stopping DL might be in line. Is Payne playing up to his contract?

I hope GMAP has a solid plan

Well, the 2024 draft class has been a very mixed bag so more moves than anticipated may be necessary in offseason.

Outside of Daniels we have seen progress from Coleman at LT when healthy which is becoming an issue for him IMO and you are seeing competitiveness from Sainristil while playing out of position due to the failures to acquire any outside corners in the offseason that can play a lick.

The others?

Newton - I really haven’t seen his hype and attested quickness and athleticism lead to many game changing plays on the DL to this point. At 295 he seems light in what is a weak rush defense.

Sinnott - I am of the belief now he was overdrafted as per some post draft write ups. He has made little to no impact and can’t take any reps away from 34 year old Zack Ertz.

McCaffrey - Luke has basically disappeared since what, Game 6? On a team with limited depth at WR the trend line for his development is not on a strong upward march.

Magee - not enough reps to really evaluate.

Hampton - has been inactive all season

Baptiste - showed some flashes before getting hurt.

I had my doubts at the time when we passed on guys earlier in Round 2 to make the trade with the Eagles and let them take the highest rated corner on the board.

In an ideal sense I think we needed to come out of those 3 second round picks with 2 impact players and I think it’s an open question whether any of these guys are going to be pro bowl caliber performers down the road.

Of all the picks I am the most concerned about Sinnott. His lack of targets from the beginning raise the question about whether he is bust material.

You usually don’t see second round receivers or tight ends that are healthy get this little face time on offense.

Offense needs upgrades across the board on weapons and the line needs to figure out whats best to do with Coleman then bring in at least a T and G.

Defense needs focus on Edge, DB's, DB.s and DB's along with a LB

Peters reached on some picks last year like Bulldog pointed out. Some of them are going to need to step up and prove their worth

It's very early to be making draft assessments imho. I have some of the same concerns Bulldog has, but there are a lot of things going on. Newton - specifically - I don't believe is likely close to 100%. Injuries happen even to rookies and I think that is impacting several of them. I am wondering about Sinnott and McCaffery although we knew Luke was very raw/inexperienced and he was drafted based on his physical talent, pedigree, and attitude, not as a finished product. I also think the 'work in progress' passing offense is contributing something there. Frankly, I don't get the love for Ertz and why he is getting so many reps. He is good for at least one disastrous mental or physical mistake mixed in with the good and great plays. I'd rather they see what they have in Sinnott. But again, it is early and they may just be choosing to bring these guys along slowly. I agree that Sainristil has been borderline fantastic playing mostly out of his preferred position.

You do when they're behind Bates, one of the best blockers in the league and Ertz, one of the better Y-TEs in the league. It makes very little sense to push Sinnott in front of them when there is no need to.

Newton is the topped ranked rookie against the run and 12th overall for IDL in run stops. That's pretty good.

Sainristil has been excellent for us so far. He gets asked to play CB1 pretty often and rarely gets beat.

LMC was probably the only reach pick IMO, but it was a day 3 pick, so low expectations. I would like to see more Sinnott though.

FA looks to play perfectly for us to fill out our defense. Ward and Lawrence specifically would be huge additions to this defense.

I think FA is a place we need to go and get a high end receiver. A Tee Higgins type of player.

And then fill depth issues. Use the draft to take the best players.

Our FA already started, imo, with Lattimore.

Teams run the ball straight up the gut on us for gash plays seemingly every week. If our DTs were truly stout that would not be happening.

Again I think in today’s NFL you need DL inside that have the requisite size and strength - what we used to call lead in the pants.

The good news is that run stuffers often can be found in the middle rounds.

No need to overpay in FA.
