I agree with you, I just can't believe its real for us. I think Maye and JJ are going to be good, too. I think Caleb will suck and be out of the league in 5 years. We definitely need to continue trying to hit on a QB though, because he's not playing 20/21 games every year.
Not sure about Caleb. But yeah agree about Maye and JJ. i am was one of the few last year who liked both Maye and Daniels. A lot seem to love one and slam the other. Maye looks like I expected him, too. Jayden is in another orbit than I expected. I was high on Jayden. I knew he worked hard. But I didn't know it was at this legendary level. I recall reading about him running through the playbook on the plane after being drafted on his team visit. Booking practice with his Qb coach the day after the draft. I recall reading and hearing that the dude doesn't stop working but something that can be hyperbole so i take it with a grain of salt. But I believe it all now.
I think it was Zach Ertz if I recall who said he showed up super early 5:30 ish one day during camp, he saw Jayden there and Jayden told him to keep it between them because he just wants to work versus caring about narratives about it. Quinn talking about his room was next to Kliff's room at the hotel they were staying at before the Arizona game and to late hours of the night he could hear Jayden and Kliff discussing the game plan. By the time, practice starts during the week, Jayden and Kliff already have a done a walk through in the ealry morning before the team arrives. And then you got the visual simulator. On and on. This dude is Brady level as far as work ethic.
He also has "it" as far as a clutch gene. Some players have it, some don't. He was Montana level clutch last year. Even his misses could have gone his way. The game againt the Steelers, Ertz got a first down at the end, the refs said no. BS. And heck even with that, i'd bet on a comeback if it weren't for Newton's penalty. And then the Dallas game with the missed extra point after another incredible comeback. Heck even in the championship game in the 4th quarter, they were in scoring position and if it weren't for that ekeler fumble, who knows how that game would have went?
Among other things, Jayden isn't helped much by the defense. They don't create turnovers for him to give him short fields. And this defense is horrendous at holding leads. They don't have the running game to put away leads so Jayden has to do the running himself.
