The Chiefs had much better weapons than Washington. They have Juju, Worthy, Hollywood, Hopkins, Watson as receivers plus ran into injury issues throughout the year with Skyy Moore and Rashee Rice on the IR. They ran into weird stuff with Edwards-Helaire and on and off injuries to Pacheaco and Hunt. Kelce's slow down has been evident over the year and hopefully he retires because quite frankly, I am sick of him and the Swifties. He still can be deadly with the way he and Mahomes work together.

I am not arguing we need big upgrades at OL or weapons, we desperately need both. We also need to create the pressure Mahomes felt. That comes from improvements on our DL and in the backfield.

Another year and AP, Quinn and company should have this team really aimed in the right direction. I look forward to this off-season more than any in years.

It was still obvious to me that Hurts still struggles with handling heavy pressure. He threw up the pick last night and he kept throwing the ball out of bounds vs getting out of it and scrambling or taking chances against us. He wasn’t joking that they had him play with a straitjacket as they made him a game manager this season

I like that Riggo44. I don't know if they're that good, but it may be close.

I still think what the Eagles have going for them is that teams just can't focus on one thing. Yesterday, the Chiefs figured out how to shut down Barkley. They did a great job limiting him. However, that left the vulnerable to the pass and to Hurts runs. It's very hard and may be impossible for a defense to counter all three simultaneously. We see how much strain Washington put on defenses with just a running QB and a potent passing attack. However, it's easier for our opponents because Robinson isn't a homerun hitter and McLaurin is our only scary wide receiver. Even though, Ertz, OZ, Noah Brown, and Dyami played well none of them demand double teams or for teams to tilt coverage their way.

One thing that damned the Chiefs from the onset is that they gave up the run from the start. This is probably Reid's Achilles Heel. We saw this last year with his disciple Bienemy, too. Reid is better, but he just hates running the ball so the Chiefs often become one dimensional at the first sign of difficulty. That made it easy for their pass coverage and defensive backs.

The thing I’m not quite getting is that it is the same OL minus Kelce plus Becton this year. In terms of talent, they got slightly worse. Last year, they struggled in the second half.

I guess we have to chalk it up to the run heavy approach they took this year deleveraging Hurts and their D ensuring game after game that he’d be in advantageous situations

They probably have the best OL coach in the league too. Cam Jurgens was a solid replacement for Kelce too. I find it funny how they deleveraged Hurts and were unstoppable. That doesn't support the whole Hurts is Elite talk. He's Joe Flacco that can run

Here's my other question for next year: How will Barkley hold up? History isn't kind to 2400 yrd running backs with almost 500 touches.

It’s going to be smart decisions—they’re not going to go guns blazing, spending ass ton amounts of money. I don’t expect Tee Higgins or Ronnie Staley honestly. Depends a lot on how they feel about Brandon Coleman.

Agreed. I am expecting one bigger money FA and a couple a level below. Then a couple one year prove it signings for players coming back from injury or with potential and will be given a shot.

AP will have more flexibility due to the great success last year and the willingness of players to want to play in Washington with JD.

Plus his age isn't on his side at 28. However he rarely seems to take head on big hits. That OL really made his life easy.

If we missed on one FA last year that I recall a lot of posters like myself wanted Mekhi Becton who could play T or G. He was a late signer, after the draft.

One of the things I find interesting is the contrast between previous players who've asked for trades: Lamar Jackson being first and foremost. It was laughable to think Jackson coming here--no matter how many windbags on 106.7 screamed about it (thinking Screaming Idiot Chris Russell, that loud, obnoxious Lynell Willingham, and walking CTE Doc Walker). Now, we just saw people mention us repeatedly for Brandon Ayiuk last season, and we're the odds on favorite for Myles Garrett (I still don't think he gets traded this offseason, too many cap and logistical hoops for Cleveland to get through).

Onto the draft:
I don't see them passing on DL in the first round--there's too much talent there. I can also see them moving back in the draft, adding capital. I have no idea who they would take in the 1st round. There's so much uncertainty this year,

I doubt it. Didn’t build a good reputation for himself as a character guy with the Jets. He is a guy who got hot one year who will sign a huge deal with a bad team like the Jaguars

He gets bashed a lot but Kellen Moore is a guy who has OC’d prolific offenses his whole career. The guy who is likely replacing Kellen, their PGC, is a guy who has never been a playcaller

Yeah he is going to end up with a big contract from someone, I don't see him coming to Washington next year. Last year would have been the time.

Doing a bit of research on our DL--none of our starting OL had a PFF run defense grade over 50 (except Clelin Ferrell who was pretty useless). That's horrid. (Feel free to debate PFF's rankings--they're far from perfect--but it's a good barometer to start a discussion). I'd love to come away with a monster, Jordan Davis type anchor in the middle. I don't think that's Quinn/Whitt's scheme--but hopefully they see the benefit of a massive run-stopper. I'd love to get Deone Walker in the third, if we don't get Nolen or Grant in the first; or possibly someone like Darius Alexander in the 2nd.

I just don't think Deone Walker is that good, or plays big. He plays to high and doesn't anchor well. Did you see that 270 pound OT handle him in drills in the Senior Bowl? I actually agree that Grant could be a surprise target if he drops. Don't know enough about Darius Alexander. Can anybody chime in on him?
