The 2025 Draft Thread

I just don't think Deone Walker is that good, or plays big. He plays to high and doesn't anchor well. Did you see that 270 pound OT handle him in drills in the Senior Bowl? I actually agree that Grant could be a surprise target if he drops. Don't know enough about Darius Alexander. Can anybody chime in on him?
Agree on Walker, but he has those traits that aren't coachable--massive size that's not John Ridgeway or Brandon Noble, from back in the day. He would be a developmental player--someone our coaches can get the most out of. Hopefully.

Alexander really stood out for me in the Senior Bowl--just slippery off the line and blew up a number of plays. There are some sites saying he could push his way into the 1st round.

Grant at #29 would be extremely interesting

Does anybody know how to contact SkinsInParadise (SIP)? He always added so much to the free agency and draft threads, as well as other threads. He is missed
I agree. He was in Miami I think so maybe you can find him 😁

Sad that Redwolves is dead, but love the Zepplin logo !!

Skinsmarydu said something about a new ES site, wonder if he migrated there?

I went to escommanders.com looking for him but did not find him there. Hopefully someone keeps an eye and we can tell him about this website ;)

Kenneth Grant would look soooo good next to Khalil Mack or Myles Garrett and Johnny Newton. He's 6'3" and 340 pounds and has been clocked at close to 19mph. There is talk that he will run a 4.8. He could be our Jordan Davis.

I know this is the draft thread but keep an eye on a possible reunion with Dallas DT Osa Odighizuwa and DQ in FA.

Maybe Khalil Mack but if we are getting Myles Garrett we are giving up our first round pick which means drafting Kenneth Grant would likely not be an option as he is 25th on the consensus board.

Maybe, but we kind of drafted Johnny Newton (6'2 295 pounds) for the smaller faster pass rusher DT. Osa Odighizuwa (6'2 290 pounds) is like a more polished version of Newton. On first glance it seems a lot of money for a DT who is not really going to fix the run defense (though he be a nice pass rushing option from the interior)

What are y'alls trusted big boards?

I know The Beast is the gold standard but that doesn't come out for a while (I need to check my subscription on that).

I've been looking at
NFLDraftBuzz
PFF
ESPN
Tankathan
NFLMockDraftDatabase
TheRinger
Drafttek

Trying to judge how good/bad some of them are. WalterFootball, aside from their website making my browser have seizures, has weird rankings sometimes so I have stayed away from them.

Who do you follow for this stuff? I also watch NFLStockExchange with Trevor Sikema and Conor Rodgers, but they don't really do "big boards" more just rankings.

I still think that Myles Garrett is most likely to be moved after the draft. He’s going to have to refuse to report to force a trade, and also, they need to trade him after June 1, if they trade him, for salary cap reasons.

I want to see a draft full of DL and OL and a free agent haul pulling in speed receiver with size, side to side linebacker with size and a starting corner, even if Lattimore is back to his old self.

The St. Juste experiment needs to end.

On the defensive line we need youth, speed and size.

I am in the camp that says let Jonathan Allen go.

He’s past his early prime and has become injury prone in recent years. At 30/31 he’s not worth giving additional guaranteed money to firm up his slated unguaranteed salary for 2025.

For what he makes we can look to get better value, perhaps with TWO other players for the same cost.

Really like Emmanwori
Interesting prospect for sure. I’m curious to see what he runs at combine/pro day. If he can play single high, and cover sideline to sideline (like another who used to wear the B&G), that would allow Chinn to play closer to the LOS in a more hybrid type role, which I think is his strength. We’d also have the two biggest safeties in the league, I’d bet.
