The 2025 Draft Thread

Luckily, it may be the deepest position in this year’s draft. Love for them to get a game breaking speed player there to complement BRob.
For sure! A real YAC guy with breakaway speed and a good receiver. We have great opportunity to be able to wait until day 2 or early day 3 and still be able to find talent due the stacked RB class

One thing I would be looking to do, were I in position to, is add some team speed. Sampson and Henderson in day 2, or day 3 possibilities include Tuten from Va Tech, Gordon from Ok. St., and Smith from SMU.

At WR, Bond from Texas may be fastest in the draft, and I like Tai Felton day 2, if he runs sub 4.4 in the combine/pro day.

Running back feels awkward this draft kinda.

Like Jeanty is gone gone b4 29. Probably gone by 12.

I like Hampton, Sampson, Henderson, and Judkins to make an early impact, and to a lesser extent Johnson, Neal, and Gordon.

But I think to safely get Hampton you probably have to pick him at 29 and I've seen some mocks of him to Baltimore in the first as Henry's successor.

I suspect at least one of Sampson, Henderson, and Judkins make it to 60, BUT I also worry none of them make it to 79. So do we pull the trigger on Henderson at 60, for example, or hope one of them makes it to 79.

Kaleb Johnson probably goes before 79 too, so maybe that slides someone down, but I'm unsure.

I definitely want to give Ollie Gordon II a REAL long hard look, bc he's got the measurables of a feature franchise back but obviously didn't look as good this year in games, could move up or off the board entirely depending on what's uncovered there.

If Henderson is there at #60, I think you have to take him. What he has over Sampson and Smith is weight. He weighs 215 while the other two guys weigh closer to 200 pounds. If we miss out on Henderson, I assume Sampson is gone as well and Smith becomes interesting to be in round 3 as I assume he won't be there in round 5

I really wish we had another 3rd or 4th in this draft. This draft is deep in the middle rounds at:

RB
TE
CB

If they don't trade the 1st for a player, I'd like for them to trade down as I assume DL and OL are real possibilities with the first two picks as we could use starters or impact rotation guys in both spots

Well hopefully they don't draft a TE in the first 4 rounds because that might mean they don't like last year's 2nd rounder.

Not necessarily. The Ravens took 2 TEs in the 4th round in 2022 despite having Mark Andrews. We need multiple quality TEs beyond 2025.

I ask you to check out Harold Fannin Jr and Elijah Arroyo. You can think of Fannin as a F TE you can line up as a big slot. He’s a terror in the open field and is also a very good blocker in space. I know we see a Sinnott as a H back but with his size and blocking ability, I don’t see why he can’t play the Y too

There is some good talent at TE this year. I wouldn’t mind at all if we grabbed one. Sinnott wasn’t drafted to be a Zach Ertz. FWIW, I hear Colston Loveland described as a more athletic Zach Wrtz somewhere.

Also, that play where Mike Green just obliterated Josh Conerly really has me reconsider my hope that Conerly falls to us. Conerly is going to see a lot of speed to power in the NFL. I wonder how well he is going to handle it.

I think there might be two. Travis Hunter and Jeanty. I wouldn't trade up for a running back, but I doubt he falls to us either. We need an our version of Saquon Barkley or Derrick Henry to go with the running threat and arm of Daniels. BRob when healthy is a chain mover. We want someone who is threat.
I’d be happy with one of the Ohio state RBs for this, preferably treveyon Henderson. May be able to grab in the 2nd or 3rd.

Someone had compared Sinnott to Kyle Juszczyk, as sort of a swiss army knife kind of player, versus being more of a Kittle style receiving tight end.

Loveland is intriguing but he'd need to be our 1st round pick. If we believe he's gonna be a legit high level receiving tight end out of the gate, then fire away, but I would imagine that would require Kliff to draw up more 2 TE sets. If not, you've got a 2-3 car pile-up there with Ertz, which would be okay given Ertz's age and the expectation he only has so long before he retires, BUT I also imagine there will be larger impact players at positions of immediate need at 29 too. It wouldn't surprise me if like a really high level edge defender or tackle was there, and it is a little tough to justify Loveland unless you plan on running a sort of lesser version of the 2011 Patriots offense with Ertz/Loveland getting lots of time.

If Arroyo is there at 79 I'm taking a hard look at that as an option too. Dunno if he makes it to 79 tho, he feels like the kind of guy whose stock shoots up over the course of the process and gets drafted in the 60's somewhere.

Arroyo is certainly rising, but the reason he would last to 79 is the same reason I wouldn’t draft him. Guys that are hurt in college are hurt in the pro’s. And Arroyo didn’t have just one injury that kept him out for a season, he missed most of 2 years before getting healthy and playing well this season. Look at Eric All. Injured again.

Matt Miller's Latest 2-Round Mock Draft has us taking:
29. James Pearce Jr., edge
61. Tre Harris, WR

Interesting Observations:
Starks goes in Rd2 after Emmanwori
4 RBs taken before our second pick

Not following the draft closely enough. I don't mind the positions. What do you think?

Man, Myles Garrett AND Pearce? Look out! 😂

I am honestly not an expert or even average evaluator, but I do digest lots of data/info from seeing all over the net. What I have seen so far is this draft has players all over where they are mocked, except on top. Just looking from consensus, I see weak class for QBs, not many elite OTs, but deep class for WRs, CBs, RBs, even some EDGE and DL players, just what we need for our position. Nothing I have seen deviates from what our resident experts believe, but MM draft has me surprised for some players, but not really that much honestly overall. There could be a case where some team comes calling for our RD1 pick, in search of QB or position of need, if we keep it till draft :)

This is not said in protest or anything similar toward posting mock drafts, but…

Mock drafts published 11-12 weeks out should be called mock mock drafts. It’s way too early and I would be hard-pressed to believe that anyone putting one out at this time has any real insight with teams to have an important, educated, reality based take. They could generate clicks though, so…

I don't think James Pearce makes it to us. I think he goes top 20 when it is all said and done.

I heard that was one of Conerly's few bad reps. Looking at that one rep is a misrepresentation of how he performed during the Senior Bowl. He also played LT entirely during his time at Oregon and they put him on the right side during that rep
