Rest In Peace Dwayne Haskins

Maybe. But you guys telling me you’ve never run out of gas and hiked to a gas station before? if I’d seen a station close by I’d probably do that vs. calling AAA or someone else for help.

Doesn't that only work if you happen to have a gas can with you ?
He was in a rental car, and in my experience, those don't usually come with gas cans in the trunk. But I could be wrong.
Unless I guess if it's a rare full-service garage that is able to deliver this gas.

Nowadays most stations in America have attached stores that sell gas cans.

Yep, I knew I was probably overlooking something pretty simple.
I easily overlooked it, because I basically never run out of gas, so I don't have that experience to go by, as far as purchasing a can from a gas station

I’ve never run out of gas but I’ve thought about what I would do. I am so antisocial I would rather walk for it than call someone but I may just be weird as hell. Possible he was coming back fro an evening of partying too and not in a good frame of mind.

Not only his mental frame, but nor a good physical state either (if hungover), to attempt the already harrowing task of crossing a multi-lane interstate of 80mph cars, in the darkness.
Sounds more and more like a perfect storm of circumstances, that easily added up to disaster.

It seems apparent Haskins was genuinely and greatly loved by many.
And Haskins, 'the person', was quite different than both 'Haskins the football player', as well as 'Haskins the public figure'.
Us spectators really can't grasp the true type of person that a public figure or pro athlete is, without knowing him close.
He seems like the person you'd love as a friend

Haskins was done no favors by his family. His father was a junior LaVar BAll front and center in trying to sell his son into a celebrity where the publicity would result in clothing lines, commercials, a reality show, etc.

The kid never really had the chance to develop as a player.

The fact Urban Meyer came out and said he would be successful if used properly, was complete propaganda to make himself look good as a coach.

Putting a kid out there and using a color coded series of flashcards to run his offense didn't teach his quarterback how to read defenses or prepare himself for his future, but it sure helped pound on teams like Lehigh.

I’m waiting for the last shoe to drop. I will be shocked if he was not highly intoxicated at the time. I don’t know if those results will be shared but it’s the only thing that could make any sense at all of this tragedy.

Occum’s Razor.
