There are so many unanswered questions here. I wouldn't get too caught up on the 6 minutes unless there are cameras with time stamps. Apparently the caller has 6:31 from his phone screenshot, but the accident happened “about” 6:37. We aren’t sure where that 6:37 came from though and it may be someone’s dashboard clock or a second call which may have happened a minute or two later, or police estimates. This witness only saw someone in the road and if it was truly 6 minutes, they would likely be over 7 miles away when the accident happened. Meaning they don’t know what happened other than someone (they admitted they didn’t know who it was, but we can assume Haskins), was on part of the road.
Since this was a major highway and near an interchange, there are likely cameras around. I have a feeling authorities know what happened. I don’t know the protocol for releasing those details other than what the article said about the case being closed before they release. But my belief is there are cameras on the highway that give more details. We may never know the reason for this though.
This story is just so bizarre.
