Redskins Get #2 Pick!

I just got back from the hospital and had no access to football news. It sure is great to see that this has happened. My day went from a small scare to a wonderful, wonderful ending. I won't be able to sleep now! :laugh2:

Not sure what has me smiling more...the fact the Redskins just landed the rights to their first legit franchise QB option in a generation, and all that that means....or the instant overreaction hairpulling by those of you convinced they "gave up too much" to do it.

Oh yes, Ryman, count on it. This thread will be bookmarked. :)

HAIL!!

If there's a bust in this draft, I'm willing to bet it's Luck, not Griffin.
This we can agree on. I've been saying the same thing for months, and getting laughed at hysterically over it. The only thing that bothers me, is the fear that Irsay will get pulled in by all the RG3 talk and draft him, leaving us stuck with Luck.

This is the main reason I can't get excited about this move. Picking second has never guaranteed anybody the guy they had at the top of their draft board, and if Luck doesn't go first, we got hosed. Again. So is the life of a Redskins fan.

Lol. We could get "stuck" with the QB every NFL expert drawing a paycheck considers the best prospect to come along since Elway.

I'm not sure I realized until tonight just how beat down Redskins Nation has really gotten.

This is a mistake. Brees is not worth three first rounders and a second and Griffin will likely never approach the numbers Brees had in 2011.

The Rams hit the jackpot.

This trade like the Walker trade for Dallas provides the picks to build a contender if the are used properly.

And we all know what happened to the team that just had to have Walker, the Vikings.

They are still waiting for another chance to win their first Super Bowl.

For the last time, we did not give up 3 1st round picks !!

And an aged Herschel Walker is NO Robert Griffin !!

Tremendously bold move by Shanny and Allen. These guys have seriously pushed all of their chips into the middle of the table.

It is a steep price to pay, and if RG3 busts the Redskins will be ruined for a decade, but without a franchise QB the Skins weren't going anywhere anyways.

I love the move. The Skins haven't had a franchise QB in decades, and RG3 is the perfect fit for Shanny's system.

The key now is the Skins have to make some really great picks in the mid and lower rounds in these next 2 drafts. The Skins still have a lot of holes to fill. Shanny and Allen have done very well so far though in the mid rounds and I expect them to continue to do so.

No problem with losing this year's second rounder - RG3 is worth that first and second for 2012. The key was keeping future second rounders and our FO will be able to turn those into multiple picks a la 2011 draft.

Hearing that Cleveland was not in the bidding to move up. Hold on to your hats - told that it was Jacksonville being close on our heels. Interesting.

Hot Diggity Dog!

At worst, A. Luck, I'm loving this deal. High price, but you don't see 2 QB's with this much potential ......EVER! RG3 I'm hoping for! HTTR

Redskins.com isn't exactly known for putting out breaking news. Word is this deal has been signed. Won't be *official* until Tuesday, but it's a done deal.

I am bald!

And I am convinced we gave up too much.

This thread will be historic.

Not because of the trade up deal. But because it will provide irrefutable proof that Bulldog was finally, after all these years, wrong. :)

Ok. :)

Me, I'm grinnin' ear to ****ing ear.

If this guy is the real deal, the three draft picks it took to get him will up and be forgotten like a fart in the wind.

I haven't been this excited since Gibbs came back.

Well, he and I are in a precarious position...me moreso because I truly hate being wrong! If we are wrong that means we will have a QB who wins. If we are correct? UGH!

About that pic of RG3 in a Redskins uniform holding up a Lombardi...

:djsmilie:

:drummer:

:thewave:

:movefast:

Life is good. :)

RG3 is a super high character guy. He's smart, he's accurate, and he runs a sub 4.4 40. This guy is a smarter, more accurate mike Vick.

I cannot stop smiling!!! I don't think I am going to sleep tonight. We will finally have a QB to be excited about. It is a large price to pay for a player that may or may not make it in the NFL, but it is a small price to pay if he ends up being a franchise QB.

This will also help bring in FA. I was worried that Orton would be our QB and no one would want to sign here.

Also, does anyone even show up to his or Luck's pro day? Seems like a waste.
