Random Commanders Thoughts

Is there a 2025 draft thread in here somewhere?

Forbes to be inactive for the remaining games of the year (assuming not needing to play because of injury). Obviously he was on the block yet no team wanted him. Cant think of a worse first round pick and that is saying something with this franchise.

Proof of how much I pay attention.

I spent a long time looking for this in the past, but gave up hope of ever seeing it. A full broadcast of the replacements beating the Cowboys in 1987. Gonna have to make some time to sit down and watch it in full.

You have to wonder why they don’t just release him?
Eh. I don’t think they need the roster spot that badly so there’s no real point.

I think we disagree but I think either he gets traded for a conditional 2027 7th in the off season or makes it to camp. They seem to like his effort, and he has talent, just not size. So they might keep him around at least until camp. If he makes the team after that, great. If not, he’s cut.

But there’s no real rush to cut him. You’re not saving any money and he’s not a problem in the locker room. Now, if they need the spot due to injuries…. Situation might change.

hopefully ron gets another coaching gig soon and we can trade him. Hes got to be the second coming of josh norman to ron

The chances of Ron getting another coaching gig are about the same as me running into Sydney Sweeney at the local Safeway.

It could happen. But very unlikely.

Thanks so much for this. I am laying on the Futon with my two dogs and watching this should make it a perfect evening

Looking at the 1987 game we should sign the Left tackle, a cornerback and the tight end lead blocker to the current team.

I don't remember this game. Now I remember. I was on an Interagency hotshot crew fighting the Silver Fire in the Kalmiopsis Wilderness in Oregon at that time.

Yes, the Washington Redskins' replacement players from the 1987 season received Super Bowl rings in 2018:

The replacement players went 3-0 during the strike that took place from Weeks 4–6 of the 1987 season. They beat the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Cardinals, which helped the Redskins win the NFC East title and advance to the Super Bowl. The Redskins went on to win Super Bowl XXII against the Denver Broncos.

The players were not recognized when the Redskins won the Super Bowl, but they were eventually honored with rings after momentum was generated by an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary and a Virginia General Assembly resolution. Some of the players said the rings were surreal and unbelievable.

He would be a good fit in Dallas
Hmm I hadn’t considered it but I bet Jerry is someone who can really appreciate Ron’s work at GM. Perhaps he would be a good fit in Dallas. I guess seeing him on the sidelines with folded arms and a dumb look on his face could be fun if it happened.

Thanks for that, I think. It was painful to watch because of all of the Redskin miscues that made it a closer game than it should have been. It was also painful to watch because the video quality is horrible.
