Blame Lord Farquaad for never hiring a qualified GM EVER in 24 years. Most coaches outside of Belichik or Parcells are good at drafting, and coaches who do double duty typically fail - Holmgren was bad in Seattle UNTIL they stripped away his GM duties. Seifert had the highest winning percentage of all time , but then tanked in Carolina. Look at all the young offensive talent that went on to have success away from Snyderville, and they all went to teams with solid GMs. Vinny Bugeyes was Danny's lackey - NOBODY would look at his draft record post-Walsh and give him a job. Brucifer was EVEN WORSE in Tampa Bay, but Lobsterman convinced Danny to hire him because Shammy wanted his own lackey in place when he took the job. Farquaad followed the exact same predictable pattern for 24 years - hire an unqualified offensive guy who can't make miracles from a lousy fantasy based roster, try to "help" him by meddling, fire him, face criticism, bring an old name coach out of retirement to replace him and hand over full control of personnel so you can tell people "you have learned from the experience."
Robiskie -> Scotferbrains -> Spurrier -> Gibbs -> Zorn -> Shamahan -> Jay G -> Rivera ...gee, anyone else seeing a pattern here?
Scotferbrains draft in 2001 was a disaster. Thanks to Gregg, Gibbs defense picks were ok, but all of his offensive picks outside of Cooley were busts.
picked Trent Williams and Kerrigan, but also mortgaged our entire future on RG3 after realizing how badly he misfired on gambling on Sexy Rexy and John Beck.
Jay was a very mediocre coach, but probably the reason he's the only one of Dannyboy's reign of error to have back to back winning seasons is because he was better at player evaluation than any of the others, and because he had Kyle Smith...whom Ron pushed out to make way for his lackeys.
