Official Game Thread - Week 8 - Commanders @ Colts

When that inept turd let's him scramble and make a play, Taylor is a stud.

When that clown boy makes him stand in the pocket with a 5-7 step drop he fails like all the rest.

I'm not sure it's Taylor that's the issue. His interception was all him tonight. I do not even attempt to not accept that.

Taylor throws balls Wentz doesnt.

Wentz has the ability to make throws Taylor can't

Taylor could have 3 or 4 more INTs THIS year if not for plays by his WRs. The key is figuring out the balance of risk / reward. Right now, we've seen some reward.. let's hope it continues.
Just think how much better both would be if they had an OC that schemed for them?

What's wrong with having an offensive scheme designed to make the D feel good about itself?

But the opposing D has feelings, too. You wouldn't want them to feel inadequate. Turner's playcalling is designed to bolster our opponents egos and make them feel good. It takes a big man to be willing to belittle yourself by making your opponent look so much better than you.

you've finally identified our identity as a team

I could not believe that on 4th and 6 inches with 37 seconds before half, they punted.

Then first possession of the third,go for it on 4th and 2.

Just awful, situational football decisions by Ron and Scott.

Very lucky today......

With two minutes left in the first half we just kind of walked around...and then ran it up the gut until the clock ran out.

Yay!

That is absolutely true.

I'm not the best representation of our friendship, but I got your back 100% and everyone (including you) knows it.

Loyalty goes a lot further than an expensive contract

Also, when Taylor says "I don't know what happened in the middle 2 quarters" he knows....we all know

This was a crazy game. It gives plenty of ammo to anyone arguing almost anything - good or bad

No we won't. I think you're wrong. We will never argue anything!! ;)

I don't know how they won that game. I just can't explain it. Terry is just a monster and Taylor finds him, especially on broken plays. Today, it was the play that mattered. I still can't figure out how that works, but I'll take it. It's good to be on the side of winning one you can't explain instead of being on the losing end like they have so many times over the years.

They should have a "Be the OC for a day" contest.

If you win, you get to call the game on gameday. If the offense scores over 20 points in that game, Turner's immediately fired.

I guess I’ll take the win but man, it was not a good showing overall and even the McLaurin near TD was awful. Underthrown on an improvised route and without a heroic effort by Terry it’s a pick or an incomplete pass… I was ecstatic and love that we pulled it out - but Jesus this was an ugly one and Heinicke was mostly awful.

With Heinicke in the lineup, this to me feels like a team in that 7 to 8 win range. We know his limitations and I am sure that any realistic fan would acknowledge that we aren't a legitimate threat, despite a three game win streak.

That all said, this was one of the best feel good wins in a while for me. I personally like seeing good people get rewarded. Terry McLaurin has put up with a lot of BS since putting on a Washington helmet and never complains. It was so great to see that kid go home and have a heroic performance like that. This guy could win a Super Bowl, be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame one day, etc., and I guarantee you he will always point to this game in his home state as being one of his most memorable moments of his career. Very well deserved for #17. I couldn't be more happier for him.

The thing that is most frustrating here is that with the limitations of the Oline and Heinicke, there seems to be no effort made to account for that in strategy or playcalling.

The same situational coaching mistakes keep being made.
The same clock management decisions being made.

Then after the game, Rivera comments that guys are out there doing their own thing instead of what they are coached to do.
Week 8 and Year 3 and that's still going on? What do they do out at Ashburn during the week?

Incompetent.
