Hopping on board the BGO train after the ES derailment.

I think the biggest difference between forums and social media sites is simple - sheer size. Even on relatively large forums the active posters tend to be a manageable group. It’s possible to get to know them and even become friends. Tougher to have that community aspect on most social media sites. Not impossible but tougher. And of course if there are character limits that is going to encourage driveby posts and limit in-depth discussion to a degree.

I find the tone of social media sites tends to be exponentially snarkier.

i came here cause the assholes at sportshoppla is overwhleming and i love to talk about the redskins with nice, fellow decent fans.
I was going to ask you if you were the same poster. Good to see you here, you already know my feelings about the Mod on the board there.

As for Reddit I like message boards far more than Reddit. I'm so glad I found this place.

Bingo. On a message board you get to know the posters, yes some have become friends of mine. On Reddit, X etc it's just random people who post and then disappear. You rarely have a discussion that lasts more than 2 posts.

a lot of the reddit guys seem really infatuated that redskins is coming back which it never will.same for fb
Yeah and many are still hanging on to the hope that the "other board" will return. Neither of these things are ever going to happen.

I keep wondering if the death knell of ES had something to do with the URL? Probably not, it wouldn't have been that hard to do a redirect.

It died, some need to come to grips with this as well knew it was a possiblity. When people reach out and are ignored, yeah it's dead.

Glad I found this site. I do have a question. Are there any forum rules? And threads political in nature are not allowed (I think I saw that posted on Reddit)?

What part of NC are you in? Several of us here...

what is d?extrme skins?
Extremeskins was one of the oldest messageboards dedicated to the Redskins. It was still the most active message board I utilized. Owned by the team it's future was always uncertain but we never really had an exit strategy. Then one day about a month ago Poof it was gone. I dicked around on X and Reddit and found some of the group there but it wasn't the same. Thankfully someone on Reddit mentioned this board and I joined up as did many other ES users.

How did you find this place?

I suspect the team, if the board truly is permanently gone, had their reasons for not wanting it out there. I honestly don’t think it should be that hard to figure out.

I think it would be better if folks want to discuss ES specifics and what went down, if you all did it in PMs. It has nothing to do with us here.
