Dwayne Haskins caught maskless in strip club

Wanna know what bugs me most about Haskins only getting a hand slap and retaining his starter status? A very small little part of me wouldn’t be unhappy if he totally craps the bed on Sunday. I don’t like him. I don’t want him to be my QB. Rivera can couch it anyway he wants but the bottom line is, you’re allowing a guy who’s not a good teammate and whose values are nothing close to your own to start at QB. I’d rather lose with a good guy than win with Haskins. I really would.

If number 0 is an option, take number 7 away and make him wear 0.

Boone,

100% agree. Post of the year in my opinion. I have always hated having to cheer for guys that lack character just because they play for the Redskins.

I want to win with good people and I have always felt that Rivera is cut from the same cloth for the most part in that regard.

A part of me still feels that underneath this all, he knows Alex will start.

So Coach, how do you square that with the rest of the team by not playing the teams' best shot at the division if Alex can't play?

Ron's in a tough spot. If there was no chance at the playoffs, Haskins probably gets released. Think the guys interested in a playoff run wouldn't raise their eyebrow at the thought of a UDFA Qb ,signed a few weeks ago to be the quarantine Qb, starting a game with those type of implications? Or Montez?

Rivera's doing the only thing he can right now.....

Ultimately, what the football world cares about is "be good enough for da business".

The NFL will excuses many off field sins as long as it doesn't trickle into on-field performance. Because remember, they are not practicing a religion to edify themselves, but to pursue substantial material goals.

We do not have a better QB behind Haskins, they're both probably as a good as Ben DiNucci. The business of making the playoffs for the other players is not something that could be fully disregarded.

First of all, I’m not at all convinced Haskins gives us the best chance in any scenario- what’s that certainty based on. He plays like an UDFA who’s unfamiliar with the offense, why not give another one a shot? :)

I understand Rivera’s in a pickle. Doesn’t mean I have to be happy with how he deals
with Haskins. He should’ve traded him when he had the chance and then we’d have someone else more ready to jump in.

Well apparently it was a hotel party for his gf's bday, shes obviously cool with strippers, and that's wife material I remember me and my ex-wife hitting up strip clubs............please note the dripping sarcasm

IMO, in the second half last week, he played just as well as Alex has been playing. As for the first half, let's not act like Alex has been lighting up first halfs either.
Haskins should be done here. When the offseason comes, my guess he's the first to go.

He played fine in the 2nd half. Is that the bar now - starter's play a good half once in awhile? The problem is, he's one knuckleheaded forced throw away, at any given moment, from losing a game for us. You know I'm right there. Does an UDFA or guy off the street give us a better chance? Probably not. But I could root for him with a straight face, and I seriously doubt one would be any higher risk of screwing the pooch than Haskins is.

I don't want to hear the Alex comparisons. Smith was clearly injured in the last game. And Smith has to play at a decided disadvantage since teams know he cannot escape with his feet. He still usually manages to make smart decisions and put us in a position to win. That, and he's a great human being, while Haskins is (from everything I've seen) arrogant, entitled, and immature.

I have a question for you. What in God's glorious name has Dwayne ****ing Haskins ever done to deserve my support? I'd really like to hear the laundry list.

And btw - you may recall, I was one of Haskins biggest cheerleaders the first year, before some of this nonsense became apparent. I supported him, and I wanted him to succeed. Now I just want him gone.

Boone, Haskins is gone as soon as the season's over. I know that along with everyone here.

Ron cutting him right now, hurts the team and benefits Haskins. That's all I'm saying here. It's a tough spot for the team to be in.

So if he's in the game Sunday, what you're saying is, You'd rather throw away a playoff shot to stick it to one player over the other 52?

Not suggesting he cut him now. But he doesn’t have to play him DP. He should by all rights be suspended.

And that’s a suckers choice question. Those aren’t the only 2 possibilities. Quite possible to have someone else under center and beat the Panthers.

Apparently it was a private party and not a strip club. It was his girls party.

Not making excuses at all, but it wasn't a strip club

I really wanted to root for Haskins, I really did.

He shows flashes of talent, and he’s young and on a rookie contract and hadn’t had a great entry into the league over the last couple of years. Because he’s been here 2 years, you forget how little experience he has. I was a big advocate for playing him more and seeing exactly what we have in him.

But...

And it’s a BIG but...

I just can’t do it anymore.

As Rich Tandler used to say... Don’t listen to what they say, watch what they do.

Simply from a character point of view, he keeps saying the right things and then his actions tell the fan base something else. I’ve tried to tell myself that he’s a young kid and Lord knows I did some stupid crap when I was his age...

But he’s QB1 and he’s SUPPOSED to set the tone and lead by example. Forget his talent, it’s that specific area that concerns me the most. And it’s thrown into sharp relief when you see him alongside Alex Smith.

And the youth argument dissolves when exposed to the light of how his young teammates Terry and Chase have established themselves.

I’m now ready to move on from Haskins.

Keep him to end the season. I want that playoff spot for the rest of the guys, and if he can play like second-half Dwayne then he’s our best shot.

Post season he’s gone.

Let Smith groom Allen and QBX next year.

related question...

If Prescott or Wentz become available next year (Dallas will have a high draft pick, Wentz looks to be being replaced already!) would you trade/sign them?

Prescott is okay. Wentz raises too many eyebrows and has similarities to Haskins regarding effect on teammates.
