Also, why in the hell should they lose in order to appease us on the outside looking in, to get a better draft pick? Do you hear how ass backwards that is?
Well, I wonder how Jets' fans feel about their victory over the Rams.
I get what Rymnan is saying, but I disagree with that line of thinking unless faced with #1 or #2 pick...and if you are that bad, you need an infusion of talent more than that winning attitude down the stretch.
Along with the fact that this team has seen tremendous progress all over the field with new coaching, there is a lot of talent this draft at most positions so BPA at TE, LT, QB, WR, or RB should be an easy one. Winning outweighs draft order on a young team who is markedly improving.
With WFT picking in the 19-24 range which it appears they might, they have a wide selection of players to choose from that could fill any number of needs. While most times I don't agree with taking a RB in the 1st round, I think this is a good spot for Najee Harris or Travis Etienne to be considered.
I mean...even if Kyle Pitts of Devonta Harris are there, this is where there is value with these guys. This draft is deep in talent that will reach this range in the draft order.
If I were choosing in the 19-24 range, Najee Harris would be my bet. He fits the style of player that would excel in Turner's offense...very good running back with great receiving skills out of the backfield...at 6'3" 230 pounds. I like Etienne, but he is a lot smaller.
You guys couldn't go wrong with Devonta Smith or Kyle Pitts, either.
As for QB this late, if Trask were available I might pull the trigger, but none of the others considered in the 1st round, Zach Wilson or the kid from North Dakota.
When you're talking about draft order, it rarely translates into guarantees. I forget which of the members of the board looked up the stats, but drafting in the top 10 does not guarantee the player is any more of a success that any later in round one.
