Confirmed Signings

It just seems strange that the 49ers sign Rogers, then offer Mays for trade. They're not saying what I think they're saying, are they?
 
Mays is not a corner. He is a SS who plays better against the run. I'd like to see if he could make a transition to LB. But that's just me.
 
Rogers may very be on his way to playing that position. We'll see what happens.
 
Hail! is reporting that Henson has been released this morning. Anyone else heard anything about that?

I guess maybe they thought he was an injury risk? A little surprised by this, just because everytime he got on the field, I thought he made plays.
 
Not surpised at all. The message this year is durability counts. Too many times in the past couple of years the team has gone into the season counting on players who have not shown they are capable of staying on the field.

Besides my guess with the Tatupu visit and the resigning of McIntosh is the Redskins are looking for VETERAN depth on defense, guys who can step in and play.
 
I think they signed whitner to play who fits their scheme better. Mays is a landry type, big, fast but not quick, more of tweener LB /ss than a roam the middle guy. he would fit here and he is young, if he gets much bigger we could move him to LB when LL is healthy.
 
Another thing that probably helped Rocky was his dedication during the lock out. He was at player organized practices and never complained about his contract (or lack thereof going into this season) or what he expected in the future. Compare that to Carlos - just saying.

But I thought we were trying to get younger. I don't mind some stop-gap vets, but I want to change our FA recruitment habits. I want young, hungry guys. No more contracts for damaged goods and old players.
 
With the cap cutdown the Redskins may not be done at LB.
