Hey friend,

I am always on the hunt for new beer and thankfully a good number of breweries here in the Piedmont to enable that haha. Hard to narrow down but if I had to choose my top 5 they would be:

Duvel
St Bernardus Abt 12
Sexual Chocolate-Fantastic stout from Foothills Brewing.
Heady Topper-Hard to get but very satisfying when can get some.
Gouden Carolus

So as you can see, Belgian beer is the tops for me haha with 3 of my top 5. I hope to get to Belgium someday and tour some of their more famous breweries.

This thread has been dormant for far too long. I know there are several of our BGO members including yours truly who are homebrewers...

It has been over a year since I made beer. Going to order ingredients today for the first beer of the summer. Not sure yet what I'm making. Any of our new members into homebrewing or wanting to learn?

This popped up on social media ‘memories’ today, one of the more memorable beers I ever made. 2014 I made a Chocolate Stout and added half of a ghost pepper to the wort for a few days at the end. I believe I took this to a BGO Tailgate that year and I had people coming from everywhere to try it. It started out sweet and dark and then … BAM! … it would hit you and leave a mark.

I need to get back to making some beer occasionally.
