Abercrombie Admits There Are No Obama Birth Records In Hawaii

Here is the problem I have with this whole issue. It makes the Right look desperate. Really desperate. You all can go on all you want about how important it is to make sure he qualifies for his office, but the fact is that most Americans believe the Hawaian officials Henry referenced. So those of you who continue with this look bad. This also dilutes your credibility. Because to most of us, this issue is dead and has been dead for months. So the next time the Right brings an issue to the forefront, legit or not, a lot of us respond with an eye roll and make cracks referring to tin foil hats (not that i have ever done that, only others, Im sure...). At a time when the country really needs to come together and work unified, this is a distraction, and it is a distraction that most of the country couldn't give two ****s about, because to the rest of us, it has been resolved.

Continuing to protest over it makes you look worse. More desperate. Which probably serves to continue the cycle. The more desperate you get, the more desperate you are to find something to stick on him. Go with what Boone wrote, i think most of us in the middle feel that way. He hasn't done a good job, he isn't leading effectively, and he certainly hasn't done a great job reaching across the aisle. Go with that.

Because I swear to God there are times i tell myself i will vote for Obama in 2012 just to spite the Right nut jobs.

And i doubt I'm alone.

umm...it won't be spiting the right.

first off...the "Right" is your dirty word for the people you disagree with.

second....the "Right" is putting people in power at the local, state and Federal levels...Prez or no Prez

it won't be the "Right" getting screwed......it's the next several generations who will inherit an unGodly mess both parties had a hand in creating but which Obama now OWNS and has exacerbated. everyone gets screwed regardless of political allegiances.

OK. I have read and reread your post five times, and still am not sure if you are actually referring to my post or if you completely missed my point or what. 'Cause WTF?

First off, allow me to disabuse you of the notion that you should presume to know the first thing about what I associate with the term "The Right". When we have had the chance to hit a few golf balls together or have a few beers together, by all means. But until then, recognize this is an internet forum and you don't have the slightest idea what I believe or adhere to. And the reason I say that is because you have totally and erroneously miscategorized me.

As for your last two points, I actually agree, but that wasn't what my post was referencing at all. Not real sure how we got from a discussion about how the Right handles (is handling) Obama's birth certificate to a discussion about the future America our children and grandchildren get to inherit, but whatever. I agree with you. It's a cluster****. And it's Bush's fault, and Obama's fault, and Congress's fault, and... well, you get the idea. I would disagree that Obama owns it all, seems to me he was dealt a pretty ****ty hand; having said that, he has indeed made it worse, so I can say that he owns a lot of it.

But again, that's not what we were discussing. I was arguing that the way the Right attacks Obama over the birth certificate reeks of desperation. Feel free to reread the post and comment, if you'd like to.

Oh trust me Goal, there's enough out there to run against him without this.

Off the top of my head

Tripling the deficit

Handling of the oil spill. that you strangely don't hear anything about anymore

The vacations

TARP and eventually admitting there was no such thing as "Shovel Ready Jobs"

ObamaCare and the boondoggle it's turning out to be

THe "closing" of Gitmo

THe list goes on and on

I agree with five out of six on your list. So concentrate on those. The birth certificate thing is beneath you and the Republicans. Makes you all look silly, imo.

silly to you is serious to others. respect that because one day youll have something that the "other side" may just want to scoff at and youll be insulted they dont respect your opinion.

Good God. Seriously, go back and reread the post. I said the perception of most people in the middle is that the "issue" has been answered and dealt with, and the Right's continuing obsession with it reeks of desperation and seems silly to those of us in the middle. The other things on Sarge's post I do find serious, and would not scoff at. This has been dealt with and is perceived to be silly. And desperate. And a waste of time. Whether I believe it is silly, desperate and a waste of time is largely inconsequential. That's what most people believe.

I do mean I think it makes you look silly, Mike, imo, and in the opinion of many like me. And that detracts from other arguments you may want to make in the future. Instead of focusing on the issues that Sarge brought up, we deal with this? I am in agreement with most of what is on Sarge's list, I don't think Obama has done a great, or even good, job. Fixating on the BC issue when as Henry has pointed out, it has been answered is silly, imo, and in the opinion of others in the center.

Fair enough Mike. Henry asked a question a while back that I think bears repeating. What will it take to satisfy you, personally? I am only talking about the BC thing here, nothing else. Is there a document he can produce that will allow you to close the door?

"Ladies and gentlemen: the original birth certificate" hold it up..

Yeah, but WorldNetDaily found a guy who says it's a fake. Prove to me it isn't ...

I've said all along, when Obama holds one up that looks like this

Then I'll shut up.

I want Geraldo there at the Dept of Health when they dig it out of the files too

That's the thing, Mike. You can photoshop ANYTHING these days. ANYTHING. So what's the point?

Sarge. Come on.

Mike. Come on.

Just admit there is nothing the man can produce that will satisfy this for you.

Once you admit that, we can move on.

What did I just say? When he holds one up like the one in the link I posted (That officials at the Dept of Health say they have) then I'll shut up

But I still want Geraldo there

I apologize to you both. Sometimes I forget I have institutional knowledge others may not have. I am in the publishing industry and have been for the last decade. Let me go ahead and tell both of you how incredibly easy it is to photoshop and fake what you are talking about. It is INCREDIBLY easy. Ridiculously easy. Stupidly easy. Trust me. Give me a week and I could get it done, and I suck at Photoshop. Some one who is a pro? 20 minutes, no problem.

The piece of paper proves nothing. Sorry guys. My question was rhetorical. There is nothing he can do to prove anything. Nothing.

I am a professional graphic designer. Give me someone else's birth certificate and I could have an Obama one done in 20 minutes easy.

Then I could have one of my operatives pick it up and secretly transport it to Hawaii, where the now Democratic Governor could ensure it's placement in The Vault before anyone from Foxnews could get there and take a look.

... well, ok I couldn't do the second part. But the first part, sure. :)

Kinda like this one?

I'm just saying it can go both ways. THe evidence you all and Obama hold up as absolutely legit can be photoshopped just as easily as anything else.

And since you and Goal have stated as such, why is it you take it for absolute proof?

A statement from the director of the Hawaii State Department of Health can be photoshopped?

... twice? :)

ok!

you weren't using the term "Right" as a pejorative and you weren't making an equally emotional threat to vote for Obama just to spite the "Right" you find irrational in its chase for the magic birth certificate.

it does, however, raise an interesting question....what then do you mean by "the Right"?
