2024 Roster Updates

I thought Mike Mayock was just awful with the Raiders, but it would be fun to see if any other executive has ever had as bad a 4 year run in the draft as Ron Rivera.

I feel bad for Mayock for the slander. It is well known Gruden took over their draft room on Day 1 and Day 2. Mayock tried to make up for it finding Crosby and Renfrow Day 3

Wondering about Sinnot on how good Ertz has been. I expected Luke McCaffrey to take some time. Year 2 is going to be big for both of them, I am still into college ratings, mock drafts and Free agency in that I have a lot of spare time on my hands now and we are still in the building process. Playing better teams next year, and even with Daniels, Superman had his occasional kryptonite, we need some major upgrades. I am wondering if Allen would restructure- It would be great to have him here for a few good years, he deserves it. Wishing Rivera the best in NY if gets the job. He needs to hire a defensive coordinator who does not hire his assistants from Pee Wee football, a good general manager and someone who keeps track of time and the team record.

I think Ron is your new Marvin Lewis - the minority who gets interviewed to fill the Rooney Rule requirement

I think what we've seen with the kickoffs is that the talent is there with Luke. He's supposedly a real hard worker (at least that was the preseason story). It's weird that people keep saying he's always open yet Daniels can never find him. So, I'm guessing there is something going on. Luke is very young as a wide receiver having just converted from QB.

I was 99.9 percent sure of this until the jets claimed phidarian mathis and jamin davis, that coupled with the ron interview is either smoke or it's a fantastic coincidence

HAHAHAHA good point

At the end of the day, it's become a toxic job no one will want. To lure any promising younger coach, they will have to go way above market on terms (like how the Panthers gave Canales a 6 year deal)

I see the Sinnott and McCaffrey question has already been asked - we definitely need these guys to start to produce.

On another roster related topic we have injuries stacking up on the O’line. Need to get some guys back healthy for the playoffs. Wylie was injured going into the Atlanta game, Lucas went down with a groin during the game and Biadasz had his ankle rolled up.

We may be down to the bare bones Sunday against the Cowboys.

The thing about Sinnott and McCaffrey, they aren’t getting looks because other guys are producing. Sinnott will never get consistent production with Ertz on the field. That’s what happened with McBride in Arizona. As soon as Ertz was gone, McBride started to blossom. And Ertz was not playing as well in AZ as he is in DC. So there is no reason for Sinnott to play more. He won’t be an upgrade at the point.

McCaffrey could be getting more throws his way, but my guess is he is further down the list of reads when he is in the game. Terry is clearly the first read on a ton of passes and Ertz is as well. Now Zaccheus is stepping up and Crowder has produced since coming back from IR. Similar to Ertz, those guys have been producing lately so why take them off the field or get the ball to another player just because we think a draft pick needs more work? Crowder specifically is a vet who knows how to get open. He knows where to be for his QB. It’s possible that McCaffrey isn’t there yet.

I see it the way you do. With Daniels in his rookie year, I can see where they would overemphasize Ertz. I am looking forward to the playoffs and the off season- I think this off season is going to be great as we now have some pieces in place.

I would love to look at this from the optimistic point of view but 2 catches for 6 yards from a second rounder is dreadful.

Mcbride had 29 catches for 265 his rookie year which is low but what you'd expect from someone who just isn't ready yet.

His career isn't defined yet but bettors would take the under.

McBride had the vast majority of those catches after Ertz got hurt. Ertz got hurt in week 10. Ertz to that point had 47 catches, 406 yds and 4 TDs. Through week 10, McBride had 4 catches for 31 yds, which he had 1 game with 3 catches for 24 yds. I have no idea if Ertz left that game or he just had a game where he got the ball. But McBride didn’t take off until Ertz went out. The next year, Ertz basically lost his job to a younger and better player.

There is no need to be concerned. All it means right now is that Ertz is playing well. Sinnott will get his chance and if he doesn’t, then it means that Ertz is still playing well. And the team is better if Ertz is playing well.

I would not play him this week, but having him practice this week and next is a great thing.
I thought I heard he said he was targeting the playoffs.

Rest that man.

Cowboys are sitting CeeDee so we can sit Lattimore.
Cowboys are sitting their #2 RB (releasing him actually) so we can sit Ekeler.

We should still go out there and win this thing.
