2024 Roster Updates

How can you say that? His DB coach had lots of High School experience as a coach and was coach of the year for the McClean Virginia Pee Wee league in 2006.
I dunno, Boone. I remember Darrell Green saying that he could straighten Forbes out really quickly and that the kid had been coached into some very bad habits. I think Del Rios DBs coach did actual damage. Now, on the other hand, Quinn and Witt seem to be DB whisperers and if they couldn't undo and wright the damage than that is on Forbes

Does that mitigate the cap hit or was our cap hit only based on bonuses we paid out?

Glad he found a landing spot. For whatever reason, I think he was just done wrong by the team in his rookie season. I hope he rediscovers his confidence and McVay gives him the time he needs.

Look... the guy was a blown pick. True 1st round talent doesn't go out there and look completely and utterly inept and incapable of doing their primary job - in Forbes case, covering WRs. He simply couldn't do it. Is coaching a factor? Of course. But it's just one factor. The most concerning thing about Forbes for me was how quickly he lost his confidence. The one thing it seems you really need at that position, probably the most challenging one other than QB, is some swagger and confidence (I might even go as far as to say 'cockiness'). All CBs get beat. The good and great ones shrug it off, and go out there and make the next play. Forbes seemed to spiral and collapse further every time he was involved in a negative play. His coaches didn't do him any favors by continuing to put him out there - but we are talking about a guy who is supposed to be one of the best corners in the draft.

He clearly wasn't. And I think Peters and company decided he didn't even have the requisite skills to play the position at this level. Rivera had no idea what he was doing, that has been made abundantly clear. And he did the kid (and the franchise) a disservice by overdrafting him and bypassing comparitively surefire talents.

Well, not a complete disservice. Ron did get Forbes selection 16 money.

It is amazing how JDK seemed to have been completely enamored with him.

Crowder as PR down the stretch could be impactful given some of the gaffes we’ve seen there
That’s a good call. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he were able to offer a bit more from the slot than we’ve seen from Luck and Olamide. To be fair to them, I don’t know how much of their lack of production stems from outside variables - scheme, Daniels looking their way, pass rush issues, etc.

I totally missed Anusieum getting nabbed from our PS. Kind of a bummer (even if the odds are slim it has any tangible effect long term).

I believe he was originally grabbed by DEN. Not sure the exact date of that but he's on the CLE roster now.

Add: Brown going down should open the door for Luke to get more PT. Will be interesting to see how the youngsters play at WR this week...

I could almost see a scenario where Crowder is elevated to 2 and McCaffrey and Z split time at 3.

Noah Brown’s internal injury, according to the practice report, is to a kidney.

So much for Quinn and Kingsbury turning to McCaffrey to help make up for the loss of Brown.

I just don’t like what we are seeing out of Luke and how the team uses him in mop up time against the Titans when we are already ahead by 18 points.

We never see this guy impact the games when they are competitive.

No wonder we signed Osborn.

I also think we see now why Zaccheus only caught 10 balls in Philly in 2023 and was waived after the season.

He’s a replacement level guy you elevate from the PS in an emergency.

He’s not a guy that should make your opening 53.

Holding off on Luke evaluation until next year. Transition to WR later in college. He could be a real find or? I keep reminding myself this is a transition year and all this right now is playing with house money.

Yep, that’s why he should have been a later pick.

We took him too early and now you look around and we are bringing in cuts and waiver guys to make the difference for us.

After 13 games these guys aren’t really rookies anymore.

I’d put that down to wishful thinking..

In terms of games played, his college season would be over by now but this isn’t college. Nothing rookies train for on their way to the NFL can prepare them for the physical, mental and emotional hammering received and required at this level. I think they have to live it and survive it to harden to it.
