At this point I'm just glad it's done.

Thinking how much worse this could all be. We have veteran coaches at HC, OC and DC, in what is quite possibly a one-and-done season. We have a decent roster. We have a young QB who it looks like will get a chance to prove something.

We are going to have a new owner.

Onward and upward.

JDR is a class act so I’m sure it was discussed with him and I’m sure he said all the right things. But it would have to bother him.

I hope EB crushes it, I just think this is the coaching equivalent of what Rivera did in the Wentz deal. No one other than Washington is beating down Bienemy’s door so it didn’t require doing things that might alienate other key players (and which haven’t been earned).

More to the point, a month ago we thought we could get no one of quss as Lott. They were interviewing Pat Shurmur. Now, we got the hottest name no one wanted.

Yeah. I guess the hottest candidate that ‘no one wanted‘ is better than all the others that no one wanted (outside of Brown to the Panthers).

My impression is the Andy Reid did everything but write suggested answers for his interview questions. Doesn’t feel like a situation where KC was going to be apoplectic over his departure? But I obviously could be wrong about that…

I know Reid and Rivera are buddies but when’s the last time Andy Reid did us a solid?

Brown is who I really wanted. That was the bold move.

The "build his staff" part is interesting to me. It's going to be hard to bring anyone with him from KC because this is a lateral move, so their moves would also be lateral and they are presumably under contract.

There is a chance we are minus a WR coach, as Terrell is reportedly interviewing for an OC position with the Chargers (I think).

I think the other key words are ‘build his staff’

Someone owes someone a coke.

And after the last few weeks, it better have bourbon in it. :D

It’s not a lateral move with the inclusion of AHC. The rest would depend on individuals contract status I would guess.

Here are the current offensive coaches:

Juan Castillo - Tight Ends
Todd Storm - Assistant TEs
Luke Del Rio - Assistant QBs/Offensive Quality Control
Jim Hostler - Senior Offensive Assistant
Randy Jordan - Running Backs
Jennifer King - Assistant RBs
John Matsko - OL
Travelle Wharton - Assistant OL
Tyrae Reid Jr. - Offensive Assistant
Drew Terrell - WRs
Ken Zampese - QBs

EB wasn't under contract in 2023 so the lateral move aspect is irrelevant - unless I'm misunderstanding you here?

Changing his title to entice him even more was a brilliant move.

Prepare yourselves…..

Correct. I was responding to Neo so we were both wrong. 🥸

Unless the use the Assistant to the Assistant Head Coach title. 😉
