2022 OTA / Camp thread

Love to hear this about the secondary

Allen with good penetration, Wentz stands tall and delivers a good throw between defenders

Wentz to McLaurin on a back shoulder fade

Howell drops it in the bucket

A few throws from Wentz, a couple good (routine) throws, and a couple bad ones

Not going to only post the positives, will also be critical, a lot of this being reported

he's got a signature move lol

Cosmi is a sneaky pick for breakout player this year. I think he was one of the higher rated OT last year and from what i've heard he's come into camp hungry as hell

I've hard Heinicke has come into camp with a major investment in his arm strength.

I dont know if Kerrigan has lost some of that extra muscle since he stopped the NFL DE lifestyle, or if Sweat is just that big... but his arms look HUGE next to Kerrigan.

My assumption is Kerrigan has changed his lifestyle and slimmed down ever since he decided to hang them up.

I’m sure Kerrigan has lost some weight. A lot of guys do after their playing days. But I think the angle on that picture makes Sweat look like he’s so much bigger. Sweat was listed only 2 inches taller than Kerrigan, but even the body mass looks extremely different.

I’m glad he’s in there working with the guys. They all seemed to love him so any contribution he gives I’m sure will be appreciated.

I have the exact thoughts as Kel. Joe Thomas dropped a bunch of weight as soon as he stopped playing, too.

Ryan needs to be a position coach. Not just because he is our guy, but he was able to adapt to several different defenses and dominate at them.

Here's the arm from Wentz... ball went about 60 yards in the air and it looked routine, like he didnt have to take a big crow hop and get everything behind it. I'd like that ball further toward the right pylon where the WR can continue running instead of having to body the defender, but 65 yards down field, it's hard to really get mad about it.

No. 19 is Marken Mitchel, an UDFA in 2020. I've been hearing he's had a great camp... diamond in the rough, or another Training Camp monster that's destined to disappear once the season starts?

Another angle... kinda shaky

Dax Milne with a nice grab over Danny Johnson

Heinicke showing off some improved arm strength. As burgold pointed out in the conversation between Wentz / Heinike in the other thread, THESE are the throws that arm strength is truly judged on. Gettin it from the left hash to the right sideline quick enough that the defender can't make a play. This looked pretty good, though it was a little inside

Some people seem surprised that so far Wentz has better relationship/timing with Dotson than McClaurin. Why is that a surprise? Wentz has been working with Dotson since May and with McClaurin for about a week and a half. In a weird way, the roles have been flipped. McClaurin is the recently signed free agent who needs to get his timing down with his QB and Dotson is the vet.

Again, good with the bad. Not a great throw here from Wentz on a deep shot to Terry. Terry essentially had to tackle the DB to prevent a chance at an INT, most likely Offensive PI in a game.

I don't think this is timing, as this ball was not short or long, it was inside. This ball needs to be on the outside where Terry can go get it, this is likely an incompletion (or interception) regardless of who is at WR.

I will say I like the number of shots down field we're taking... we only need to hit 2 or 3 of these a game and it changes the game. The chunk play, plus forcing the defense to respect it opens up other aspects of the offense. I hope this is a sign of things to come, and not just thrown in there to excite the fans in attendance.

**** side note, Armani Rodgers (88) with a good block on Casey Toohill (95)... that's another flash on film at a position of need ****

Let's see the time he gets behind the OL and if Turner calls these kinds of plays. Not to say those things can't happen, but I would like to see it happen before I get too excited.
