The Czech Republic is currently up 3-0 in the first period against Slovakia. Barring an epic comeback, looks like the US will be facing Jagr and his mullet in the quarterfinals tomorrow.

Czechs held on 5-3, we play them. Latvia beat the Swiss 3-1 in a bit of a shocker, Russia handled Norway 4-0, and Slovenia blanked Austria 4-0.

Quarterfinals are tomorrow:
Sweden vs. Slovenia
USA vs. Czech Republic
Canada vs. Latvia
Finland vs. Russia

My predictions:
USA will face Canada in the semifinals, and Finland will face Sweden.

Gold: USA
Silver: Sweden
Bronze: Canada

Yeah the half pipe skiing might be my new favorite sport. that and snow cross. i could watch those every weekend.

watching that kid blow his acl out and cry out in so much pain was rough to watch. make me sick to my stomach.

Snow cross was amazing!! Didn't see the kid blow out his acl, but seeing the "wax boy" from Vancouver medal in these games was awesome!

USA men's hockey takes the ice versus Sidney Crosby and the Canadians on Friday, at noon est. Winner goes on to the gold medal game, loser plays the loser of Finland/Sweden for bronze.

Paul Martin is out for the US, sigh. They will be going with a 21 year-old from Carolina to replace him. Also means John Carlson should get a whole lot more ice time. Let's hope USA's offense keeps clicking like it has been...
