Why are they spending so much time on politics? This is absurd. The Olympics was founded on the idea of putting politics aside and enjoying friendly competition.

Honestly I want our women's team to kick Canada's ass for the gold. Love watching them play and they're pretty damn good.

I hope the men's team can pull it off also... Although I wouldn't mind seeing Ovi win gold for Russia. As long as Cindy Crosby doesn't win it... Blech.

The NHL Olympic Break officially starts today - all five #Caps are heading over on a high note, after shutting out the Devils 3-0 last night.

John Carlson & the US team take the ice on Thursday at 7:30am EST against Slovakia, for those interested. I'm sure they'll replay it in the evening also.

Other programming notes:
The US Women's Ice Hockey team takes the ice tomorrow, vs. Switzerland at 5am EST.
Shani Davis takes the ice in the 500m speed skate at 7:30am EST. Tucker Fredricks is the US specialist in the 500 though, and is the one expected to medal.
Ladies' ski jump (first time in Olympic history) is Tuesday at 12:30pm EST. The Flying Tomato takes to the slopes in the Men's Halfpipe also, at 5am EST for qualifiers. White is going for his third straight gold in the event, this is a fun one to watch.

re: guy that caused the ring to open found dead

when i saw the link i immediately thought "no.... that has to be a joke right?" and 2 seconds later i realized i believed it's possible because it's frekin Russia and who knows.

all the security and stray dog concerns and when people were funneling in for the opening ceremonies they found a stray dog inside security and got pictures of it. lol

i went looking for the pic and found this instead
