Music Recommendation Thread

^^^ Watched without sound *game is on*......it'll get a listen in the morning.

That's interesting because my preference is the exact opposite.
I like to watch NFL games and turn the announcers' volume down, and then turn up the volume of the Dream Theater music.
It works out really well, as Dream Football Theater

Back when Dan Snyder owned the team the best thing was to play the Benny Hill song while watching the game.

This is a good starting point, if you've never heard DT, or havn't heard them in a long time.
One of their more simpler and popular songs.
One of the many things that's amazing about this band : While there are 5 guys, there are Zero weak links ;
The vocalist and every musician are all beasts at what they do.
It's like a "super group" without trying to be one, but happening organically. And in perfect cohesion - no "musicians on islands"

I have listened to more DT since my recent intro, lol. This is one that stood out.

Nobody here likes Latino music but I don't care, I do!

I hope Bad Bunny knocks it out of the park!

^^^ I'm a big fan of Mana...even been to see 'em. Easily one of my top 3 shows.

One more live one from DT

This is a trip on my system at high volume. I wan't bigger speakers, but i know that I don't need them at all! It's amazing already.

Really liked this song...might be my new DT fav!

In the first vid, wow what a drum set.

Tesla's acoustic version of the Love Song is awesome. Wearing the garden glove looks very odd, lol

Dream Theater's songs never get old, even after playing them repeatedly for 30 years ago. And I figured out one reason why...
Their songs have some of the least repetition melodically, compared to other music, even despite averaging more than 7 minutes each.
Each song is like a journey or a passage through constantly changing scenery, but at the same time, each transition is SO fluid when it changes.
While most songs just have Verse/Bridge/Chorus and alternate between those 3 melodies.

The best way I could describe them, is if you took Rush, and added a keyboard player who is an utter genius, to the same degree as all the other guys.

19 yo...American Bandstand 1980

1984
I had a few beers with him in a small gasthaus in Berlin. He was with 3 gorgeous women much taller than him. It was open mic night. He borrowed someone's acoustic and knocked Hendrix out of the park.

I told my boys at the bar, "dude that's Prince! They were like who is Prince? I was like "Purple Rain man!" They had no clue.

He walked out with the ladies an hour later and gave me "the nod." At 3 am or so we went to settle the table and the bartender said "the little black man paid your bill."

The best Super Bowl halftime show EVER!

"Oh son, you mean to say you gave everlasting soul guitar just to play guitar?"

"Well, I wasn't using it"
