Commanders vs. Seahawks Day After Tell The Truth Oh My Goodness Thread

If the dislocation is a fracture then he's out for the season and needs surgery. If it's not a fracture then he's out 4-6 weeks, no surgery

I thought they played a great game

Last I checked, jersey sales don’t equal sustained success on the field. Hell, Shadeur Sanders’ jersey is a top seller. That’s your bar?

“He who shall not be mentioned” had awesome jersey sales. How’d that work?

Jersey sales is quintessential fanbase rah rah bs. 🤦‍♂️
Your switching issues. The one I addressed is you saying there is no young fandom.

I know Seattle had already taken the foot off the gas, but to my eyes the secondary looked better - not in the realm of serviceable - but better after Lattimore got hurt. He has been nothing but a liability all season.

I like DQ,. I think he is a better Coach than RR, but it feels like we are getting loyalty to a fault with JW on down through the defense.

Last years magic dust was rinsed off this team starting with the draft, FA decisions or lack thereof, and by the end of Camp, Terry completed the rinse off with a firehose.

This team had a magical run last year, but was not one or two players from a SB. It was a team that over-achieved in a rebuilding year and the players that remained started playing their age.

JD5 is him. I believe it. His one flaw though is his desire for perfection. It takes him awhile to trust his receivers. He is pulling it down and running even when guys are getting a little separation. I don't think he is not seeing the field this year. He just won't pull the trigger on a WR he hasn't built a rapport overtime with. Remember it took awhile for him and TM to get going last season.

I threw out a couple of issues but sure, I’ll stick to that one.

First, fandom via jersey sales is subjective as hell. You think the Brown’s fanbase is growing just bc Sanders’ jersey is a top seller? I would submit that jersey sales are predicated more on the player than the team. The “shiny new object” so to speak and has very little to do w long term fandom.

I definitely equate “but look at jersey sales” as rah rah fanbase base bs with regards to using it as a metric for measuring franchise success. Pardon me but I’m more of a wins on the field guy.

Eagles fan at a bar: we won 2 super bowls
Chiefs fan reply: not bad, not bad, we have 4 ourselves
Commando fan: yeah, but our guy sells a lot of jerseys!!!!!!!!! Take that bitches.
Eagles/Chiefs fans: rolls eyes and gives a champagne toast to each others team
Commando fan: spills his PBR and falls off the barstool while laughing bc he”won”

Those dead Commado fans I referred to?
Lying in the casket (caskets are very comfy cozy btw) on the day of their funeral.
Somehow even after being hit by a truck and embalmed he summons the strength to give one last breath and in that last breath he shouts:
At least they sold a lot of jerseys!!!!!!!!
And then he rolls off into eternity with a smile on his face as they close the lid on his casket.
Jersey sales 🤦‍♂️

All while his kids are wearing the Jersey of some shiny new object on some random team under their ill fitting suit……

I'll continue to defend Kliff. I think he was outstanding last year, despite all the Kliff Cliff stuff. He's been pushing a greased boulder up a hill all year. There's only so much you can do when you have WRs on the field which can't beat man coverage at all. It allows defenses to man them up, stack the box, and then you can't run, and they bring pressure, and you can't make them pay for it.

There's just no logical answer. Go under center? You'll get hit faster. Run more? Into a 9 man box. Get the ball out quickly? Impossible if your WRs can't get position or separation. There's nothing to do when you don't have anybody on the outside that scares anybody.

I can see him trying differnt things. But he also has to keep things simple, because they're constantly shuffling people in and out of the lineup, from QB down to the OL.

The difference between him and Scott Turner is he is trying stuff. There are nits to pick for sure, and he's not Kyle Shanahan or Andy Reid, but he's a really good OC. And he has a really good offense. Right now, he can't even come close to running it.

Why weren't we in on Phillips? That was before our season ended on Monday Night. Tired of watching our rivals making moves while we didn't.

Whitt is the first one to go this offseason. His defenses continue to look lost and confused, wide open receivers are the norm each and every week.

Oh and Sam Darnold is a GREAT story. Everyone, including the Vikes, thought last season was a fluke. But he looks to be pulling a Baker Mayfield.

Seahawks were well-prepared and well-coached. We were not. It's becoming too common for offenses to rehabilitate themselves against our D.

No, #5 shouldn't have still been in the game. The Bears weren't beating Dallas nearly as thoroughly, yet Schottenheimer still pulled Dak. An easy call, and it's been made routinely this season by other coaches. Dangerous and unacceptably poor decision-making by DQ, just like sticking with a DC who's clearly in over his head.

I say go nuclear blow it all up, and have a fire sale!! Acquire as many picks as possible and leave JD as the only house to survive the blast!!

The young kids are into Daniels, and thus into this team as a result. But another year like this one, and that’ll be a wrap - fairly or unfairly.

We cannot afford to trade draft picks, particularly in a lost season. The only thing worse than waking up after last nights disaster would have been reading about trading draft picks to compete this season. We should be having a major fire sale.

And Sam Darnold will likely turn into a pumpkin again. He’s always been able to sling it. The problems pop up when he gets rattled. Lucky for him our defense is entirely incapable of disturbing the 7 on 7 the Seattle O had going.

There is so much we need to prioritize it's crazy. We have got to get the O-Line figured out. JD can not take that many hits week after week.

I would like to see Jayden request a trade.

He shouldn't have been in the game, and he deserves better than this garbage.....and at a minimum, it would cause Whitt to be fired within 24 hours.
I can think of soooooooo many things to blame whitt for but jayden being in the game last night isn't one of them.

How is jayden requesting a trade gonna get whitt fired?

Because they'll take immediate action to improve things, instead of procrastinating.

I really don't think it's the OL. I think it's the lack of any respect for any of the weapons. So the OL is ALWAYS playing against numbers. You block with 5, I'll rush with 6. You block with 6, I'll rush with 7. Essentially, they just man-up on the outside, and the defender who is tagged to the QB just rushes.

Erases the ability to run the ball and applies pressure at the same time.

The thing is, teams won't do that if they know you can make them pay for it, because you can really make them pay if you have a WR who can win at the LOS. It's TDs all day long against 1:1 coverage.

But we don't have anybody who can win off of the LOS.

The OL is looking bad because of it.
