Honestly, I view this as a failing of his agent (or the team) someone should have prepped him for that question. It's a bad-look answer. He should be savvier than that. It's just a great soundbite for anyone who wants to stir the pot.

We don't *know* but we do have plenty of data that strongly correlates a receiver being 30 and over with a decline in production. It's just regular old Bayesian reasoning. Could he be one of the very rare outliers? Sure. But there's no reason to assume that he (or any WR) will be.
