The fact Rossini keeps talking about AAV, and she's CLEARLY talking to Terry's agent, it seems like they are stuck on AAV.
I'm also done with the drama, but I can't stop talking about it because it's kindof the only thing to talk about.
There is only one example I can think of (and there might be more, but just one comes to mind) of a player holding out, missing a couple or regular season games, and then coming in to sign a contract and all remaining well in the world after that, and that was Emmit Smith in 1993. Smith held out the first 2 games, the Cowboys went 0-2. But Smith was not collecting game checks, and he actually abandoned his demand for QB money and signed with the team, and then the damn Cowboys rattled off 7 in a row, finished the season 12-4 and won the superbowl. Stinking Cowboys.
If Terry really thinks he is going to take this into the regular season, that's a really bad strategic decision on his part. Assuming they can figure out how to get him off of PUP, they won't pay him to sit out. So he'll lose real money in that instance, the neighborhood of $800k per game. That adds up quickly.
So I see a resolution in some way before the season. The question I have is, if we know the ending, then why not get to it now? I mean, you don't need a DeLorean Time Machine to know the situation on September 7th. Project what's going to happen and figure it out.
skinsinparadise I agree that there is literally zero chance of a trade in any scenario. It does nothing for Peters. The only scenario I can think of would be a swap of top 10 receivers in some way. I had heard at one point Tyreek Hill was disgruntled in Miami, so a swap there might make sense, but I don't think that is likely. I'm not sure this group wants to deal with Hill any more than Terry. Otherwise, nothing they do helps this year, and they have aspirations of a deep run this year, so they want to help that cause.
